Rodarte may have created some 40 ballet costumes for Black Swan, but they won't be eligible for Oscar consideration should the film be nominated for Best Costume Design which it will. Rather, that honor will go to Amy Wescott, who received the "costumes by" front credit for the film, as opposed to Kate and Laura Muleavy, who only received the backend credit.

This isn't the first time in Hollywood history that a designer's been shafted by the Academy. Hubert de Givenchy designed all of Audrey Hepburn's looks for 1954's Sabrina, but Edith Head stole that Oscar right from under his nose.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the sisters Mulleavy were "naive about movies," didn't properly negotiate their credits and were not a part of the Costume Designers Guild.

Though Fox Searchlight allegedly wanted to submit both Wescott and the Rodarte siblings for Oscar consideration, the latter were ineligible as they were not members of the Guild.

But fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, I've got my lawyer on speed dial. The sister act are now Guild members, are represented by WME and are seeking more film costuming gigs.

Who knew that you couldn't trust people in Hollywood, of all places?
