Ungaro's 6th Wind: The Brand to Show for Fall 2013
Sep 24, 2012 - by Emily Draznik
The French fashion house Ungaro has had some difficulty finding its ground since 2002. The design house has had six different design teams in the past 10 years (and one famous mishap with Lindsay Lohan at the helm), so it looks like the brand is giving it one final go. You know what they say, the sixth time is the charm.
Almost a year after the fashion brand Ungaro announced its short-lived creative director Giles Deacon had left the company , the French fashion house is giving it another go. By next season, a new design team will have taken over the French label to return to the runway.
With Ungaro's famous list of failed design teams (one headed by Hollywood train wreck Lindsay Lohan, remember those heart shaped pasties?) the latest revival includes a partnership with Aeffe. Aeffe is an Italian manufacturer that has helped brands like Moschino and Alberta Ferretti in the past and new-comer Fausto Puglisi will serve as their new creative director.
Puglisi may be the new kid on the block, but he has designed Madonna 's tour costumes and for the fashion icon Anna Dello Russo . While we cannot expect anything to top Lindsay Lohan's Ungaro interpretation, what we can expect is that it has to be better.
