Vogue's Filipa Fino Says She Wasn't Fired, Probably Was

Jun 22, 2011 - by Lester Brathwaite

Following her "abrupt departure" from Vogue last Friday, ex-senior accessories editor, Filipa Fino, is fording the river denial  over speculation that she was fired for lining her closet with pilfered pendants and her pockets with outside consulting gigs.

Fino maintains her innocence, speaking to that beacon of journalistic integrity, Page Six: "I've never kept anything that wasn't gifted to me"

and:

"I never took them [offers to consult], because you're not allowed to...."

Well, gifting is commonplace, and sometimes I gift things to myself by stuffing them into my bag and sprinting away in my stilettoes. It's a gift!

As for consulting, Fino will now be free to pursue that to her heart's desire. She's launched her own consultancy, as of Monday, and is also planning on starting an accessories blog.

Girl works fast. Fino claims that her being fired is just a rumor and that upon leaving she left Vogue's editrix-in-chief,  Anna Wintour an email. After 11 years of working together that seems fitting since speaking directly to Anna Wintour is, as we all know, verboten. [Page Six]
