SAY IT ISN'T SO!! As I was patrolling my blog roll instead of reading last night, I came upon some terrible news.  One of my favorite designers (and a Fashion Indie favorite) is making a collaboration that I'm afraid will ruin him for me.  WWD reported that the news is true, although Brian has yet to confirm (which I'm hoping means it isn't true)

"A Forever 21 spokesperson confirmed that the collaboration was in the works and said an announcement would be made in the coming months.

Regardless, I know that the Rodarte For Target collection was great, I know the H & M collaborations have been great...but as a corporation that is known in the fashion world for ripping off countless designers, I'm hoping that Brian Lichtenberg holds up his name, and signature 'Brian' play on designers (Brianel, Brian instead of Nike, 'Lichteys' instead of Mickeys), and doesn't go down the cheap Forever 21 route and come up with some poorly made shoulder padded dresses that fall apart after you wear them once, and you see everyone and their sister wearing to the next frat party.

On the other hand, I'm not sure how they did it, but props to Forever 21 for actually being able to land a great designer for their collaboration...I'm guessing everyone else they ripped off previously turned them down.

Thoughts on this? Do you think I'm crazy?
