RUNWAY RUNDOWN: Rick Owens Fall 2009 fashion Starting out dismally dark and evolving into a soft grayish silver, Rick Owen’s layered monochromes for Fall 2009 made for quite the intricate collection. Cropped asymmetrical leather jackets, ribbed tights, winged wedge boots, silk skirts and dresses and wool, diagonal zip coats were combined to create pieces that look layered like flower petals. I wanted nothing more than to peel back each layer, exposing what I predict to be more silk, asymmetrical tops, dresses and skirts. The layering and styling are equally amazing, but I have a hard time believing anyone would wear all of these pieces at one…unless they are going for the albino big-foot look.
