Whoever compared the modeling industry to the cast of Disney World, where costumed characters are forbidden to speak on the job, is terribly mistaken! Thanks to Sonia Rykiel and her Fall 2009 collection, the runway is now a stress free, friendly environment. The show was very charming and casual, where Russian accented models greeted audience members and gave them a little inside scoop as to what they were wearing. I would image this show to be a bit longer than normal, but who would mind with such adorable, Parisian looks delighting the fashion world? Rykiel definitely hinted at the masculine aesthetic with plaid waistcoats and trousers, but brought out the girly girl with sparkly knits, pastel color blocking and ruffle detailing.
