Showing Some Leg: The Sock Garter

Whoever thought that this hidden tool for preventing bunchy socks would make a fashionable appearance as this falls new trend? Here’s another reason to show some leg: this season’s sock garter craze. Seeing that knee-highs are all the go this season, it isn’t a surprise that the sock garter has come out of hiding. Worn over or attached to the sock, just below the knee, sock garters not only prevent socks from falling down, they also give a sexy vintage appeal. 

But please, heed these two words of caution regarding sock garters:

1) Avoid the gothic black and white pinstripe sock garters with red knee highs. It looks downright trashy and more like a hooker Halloween costume than a flirty leg accessory.

2) Make sure the garters aren’t too tight. Let’s face it, some of us have more meat on our bones than others. No need for love handles on the legs!
