Skins to Rival Gossip Girls
Thanks to a loyal FI reader, we have been informed of an upcoming show that might be competition for Gossip Girls called Skins.
“Teenagers grab life by the balls in the series premiere of Skins, BBC AMERICA’s hot new comedy drama, starting Sunday, August 17 at 9pm/8c.”

Skins has been on in the UK for 2 seasons, but I didn’t think they were going to do a 3rd. It sounds like now they’re just going to move it more towards an American crowd, and maybe start over?
I watched the first two British seasons, and they were pretty hot for the most part, (even for casting with what appeared to be kids of actual high school age), but in the end the show just got to be too heavy and depressing. Hopefully they do a better job this time.
Reply to AmyP.S.: They’re just going to air the original BBC series over again for America. Same cast, same plot, just reruns. The wardrobe is going to look a little outdated - warning!
Reply to AmyIve also watched both seasons and I loved them. I think it would be fair to say that it could rival gossip girl. I had just wished they hadnt ended skins after the second season, although I would agree that it was beginning to get depressing.
Reply to BrandySkins is brilliant! Fashion isn’t up to scratch to likes of Gossip Girl, but Skins in my opinion wins hands down.
I’m guessing they’re airing the first and second season in the US. Filming in the third season has begun this month.
Only difference is, is that the third season has a new cast and new story line, for the first and second seasons was only meant to follow the story of a group of teens upto when they began collage.
Skins is a wonderful show, with a good story line and dramatic turns. YOU WILL LOVE TONY. You will.
