SPREAD UM: Wild Things, Naomi Campbell by Jean Paul Goude for Harpers Bazaar September 09 magazines

Jean Paul Goude, French photog who is the one to thank for many amazing images of Grace Jones since the 80’s, steps up to the plate here and with the help of Naomi Campbell shares this unique safari experience with the world. A little googling will prove to you that his camera lens unleashes something animalistic in the models. This shoots extreme location and consistent incorporation of animals does not disapoint.

  • This takes me back to when I used to chase lions and cheetahs with my spear and ride elephants through the Savannah back in Africa...um this is terrible. I'm tired of these black ppl "out of Africa spreads" and I'm tired of this being the only picture that comes to mind when people think of Africa.

I disagree with comment above. I think this is truly art, and if anything if a white model was type cast for this spread, we would be quick to claim, "why can't they get a black model to do this, after all it is in africa and we embody that culture more than any white women can". Naomi looks amazing and if someone thinks of barbaric animals and black people then they have a racist mind.
