DIY: Office Supplies Embellishments

I saw these awesome gold plated staples on Like Cool and it hit me- office supplies can make for awesome accessories and outfit embellishments. For those of you who are into studs, a stapler is a cheap and unique alternative to a bedazzling grommet gun, and seeing how easy they are to remove, you don’t have to worry about garment damage when you get sick of the staples! Wouldn’t blazer lapels look awesome with these gold staples outlining them as if it were studded stitching? Give it a whirl, otherwise, do what Corey does and decorate your jacket lapels with paper clips!

FEATURED PHOTOGRAPHER: Olivier Trillon

I love models as much as the next girl, but sometimes photography with out them is so completely stunning I forget to miss them. This is the case with Olivier Trillon’s photography. These unique still life images are accessory focused, making me forget about willingly clothes too. Trillon’s work must be pretty powerful to make me forget about two of my favorite things!

SPREAD UM: “Prime Time”, Iekeliene Stange, Julia Dunstall, and Daul Kim for Vogue Nippon

This beauty edit is more of an accessories edit, and I’m loving it. All too often stand out accessories blend in due to full body shots and overpowering clothing. Here the focus remains exactly where it should: on the hats, headbands, jewelry and colorful eye-makeup.

FIRST LOOK: Marc By Marc Jacobs Fall 2009 Accessories

You can always count on Marc Jacobs to throw some whimsy into his fun and fresh Marc By Marc Jacobs collection. Fall 2009 brings us some autumnal colored, patchwork woodland creatures in a brief variety of bags, key-rings, hair pieces, jewelry and brooches. This collection is definitely not for the rough around the edges crowd, but geared towards our peaceful, free-spirited fashion lovers.
Thanks Dazed Digital!
FIRST LOOK: Barbara Bui Fall 2009 Accessories

Speaking recently of Barbara Bui, her Fall 2009 accessories collection is also looking pretty stellar. While her collection exudes a grungy, biker vibe, the majority of her accessories take on a more modern, industrial feel. Shrunken steel platforms and heels put a contemporary spin on the basic pointed toe pumps. As for the studded boots and fringe bags, well, those are a more literal accessory duo for Bui’s Fall feel!

TRENDSPARK: Paper Fashion

Last month I raved about my love of these super cool Paper Heels and now paper clothing is showing up in all these beautiful, architectural incarnations. This paper fashion is making its mark in Antwerp at the Mode Museum and in Petra Storrs video, that can be seen at the source. For all you DIY lovers, dresses might be out of the question but paper fashion accessories such as pins or jewelry seem like they would be totally wearable.
