Ghosts of Fashion Past: The Addams Family

With Halloween lurking around the corner, I know many of you could be getting nervous if you do not yet have a costume. Let me make a suggestion. Round up six or seven of your friends and go as everyone’s favorite spooky clan- The Addams Family. They would be awesome characters to portray, and the costume hunting would be sublime. Morticia and Gomez are nothing less than style icons. Her long, sexy black gown and his classically cut pinstripe suit could probably stay in your closet long after the holiday. Plus, Wednesday and Pugsley were blossoming hipsters. Her vintage inspired pilgrim dress and his loafers worn with tall socks would be easy, and cheap, finds at the local Goodwill. And for your funkier friends, the other characters in the show are perfect matches! Just don’t cut off anyone’s hand for Thing in a drunken rage.

Style Icon: Anjelica Huston

I am convinced that Anjelica Huston is the most beautiful woman on planet Earth. She’s an extraordinary actress and director, has idiosyncratic style and continues to age with much beauty and grace. From The Addams Family to The Darjeeling Limited and everything in between, she remains my favorite.

Make sure you go see Choke. I was able to catch the sneak preview on Tuesday, and Huston does a brilliant job with her character!
