Adriana Lima has us in quite a flutter over her February 2012 Brazilian Vogue cover. The luscious feather ruff collar stands at our attention while a smoked eye smolders around her piercing stare. A nude lip, just a touch less tan than the rest of her, pouts as if to say, I’m clearly no stranger to the cover of Vogue. The jewels glitzing beneath the feathers’ arch are nearly lost due to the impact of the Lima look.

What with disputes on brand and magazine prestige, and definitions of beauty, we’ll let the internet be the eye of the beholder. After a busy year of redefining and reinventing herself, Carine Rotifeld doesn’t seem to be slowing down in 2012. The former French Vogue editrix recently finished a stint as guest editor for VMAN, where she used “real people” — because as we all know models aren’t actually people —  in the spring fashion issue’s editorials. Said “real people” were a combination of celebrities, chefs, mechanics, architects and a fireman; however for the bonus pin-up calendar, Rotifeld turned to her stable of models, including Victoria’s Secret Angel Adriana Lima.
