If you want to be treated like a confident, stylish high roller, consider some of the fashionable tips below.

Wear a Suit 

For many men, the casinos serve two purposes. The first is clearly the gambling, and the other is the nightlife. Wearing a sharply tailored suit will fly in either situation.  Whether you choose to go the three piece route or just a crisp blazer and pants, a suit does not look overly intimidating at the blackjack tables and is always fitting in one of the casino’s nightclubs.

Take Care of Your Feet While Remaining Trendy

A good looking suit, while fantastic, means nothing without the right shoes. In addition, you want something comfortable as you spend hours at the roulette table.  Classic designs in dark shades are a safe bet, and stick to high quality leathers, shiny or matte, for a polished look.

Carry yourself with Confidence

Looking the part, even if you’re faking, is key when it comes to gambling.  Clean nails, combed hair, and killer posture exudes confidence of the highest rollers in the casino.  Fake it til you make it, and you might just win.

Now it’s time to darken up, tighten up and watch Constance Jablonski doing the magic for the Fall Winter 2010 2011 Hermes Ad Campaign. It’s about Zorro. Or so I think. It’s pure delight, all immortalized through Paolo Roversi’s lenses. I just hope they have enough fairy tales inspiration and that they’d go on working their advertorial spells on us next year too! But a little helpful “cleaning up” only enhances the image. Master retoucher and former Ford model Sharon Daniels unveils what really is behind the photo that you see and why. –S.H.


How Much to Retouch in Advertising and Media… and Why!

It’s no secret that photo retouching is essential to all media platforms. It can lure us in emotionally to a given product or subject and in turn serves to increase sales for advertisers. We see this phenomena at work everyday and everywhere, including in fashion magazines such as Vogue and Elle.


Why does the media retouch and to what extent may retouching be necessary?

The answer lies in several areas, including the context in which the image will exist, the advertising client’s branding, and an art director’s personal vision.

Time and economic factors may also help to dictate when and how much to retouch. You may be surprised to know that it is not uncommon for a model’s face to be swapped out from one image and placed in another to avoid reshooting, saving time and money.
