RUNWAY RUNDOWN: A.F. Vandevorst Fall 2009
Edited by Kirby Marzec
From New York to London and Milan to Paris, the A.F Vandevorst Fall 2009 collection is taking the comforts (and style) of home around the world with it’s traveling nomad theme. With voluminous skirts and dresses, oversized fur pelts, wrinkled knits and baggy, high-collared blouses at the heart of the collection, Filip Arickx and An Vandevorst’s collection is a cultural array of the vagabond lifestyle. Favorite pieces include the asymmetrical, side-zip bag dress and the silk, drop-crotch jumpsuit. While certain pieces stand out amongst the rest, A.F. Vandevorst’s horse-hoof heels ought to go back in the box. I love the nomad look but horse-hooves? Now that’s a bit too literal (and tacky) for my taste.
