Chronicling a week in the life of a drug pusher in London, Pusher is Luis Prieto‘s remake of Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn‘s 1996 crime thriller of the same name. In the film, Aggy plays Flo, a “strong-minded stripper” who clearly doesn’t mind some nipple tassels nor a suggestive finger in the mouth.

While Aggy has not completely forsaken modeling, her heart truly lies in the craft of acting: ”When I did Pusher in the summer, it was like: this is what I’m supposed to be doing. I just loved it so much and it excites me to be able to do it. I want to do it as much as possible – film, theatre, everything.”

- Mariah Carey may have — allegedly — given birth to twins recently, but Mimi is already back to work.  After all she now has three mouths to feed — though I think it’s cute that Nick Cannon pretends to work. Mariah’s “remixing” a trio of scents under the name Lollipop Splash Remix. A cameo by Puff Daddy and Ma$e is sure to follow. [WWD]

- Well, the FiFi’s happened. The fakest award this side of the People’s Choice, this years’ honorees included Halle Berry for “Fragrance Celebrity of the Year” and Fergie for… “New Fragrance Celebrity of the Year.” I’m embarrassed just writing that. [WWD]

- Agyness Deyn is the latest model to turn actress with her debut role as a stripper — a classic choice — in director Louis Prieto‘s remake of cult favorite Pusher. Deyn was cast based on her “impressive audition” and not on her ability to do this. [Vogue UK]

- That Sarah Burton and that Duchess of Cambridge are some tricky broads. To keep the Royal Wedding dress a secret, Burton told the dress’s lace makers and her team of seamstresses that they were working on a costume for a period film, while senior members of the Alexander McQueen design team were simply told to lie their fascinators off. - Carine Roitfeld will style V Magazine‘s fall cover story and an editorial spread. A collective yay has sprung up around the Fashion Indie office. [Page Six]

- A shortened version(the full 10-minute version premieres tonight) of Lady Gaga’s “Judas” music video has leaked and it is hilarious. Religious iconography, unnecessary haute couture and the requisite dance break. Thank god someone knows what I need. [YouTube]

-  Models Agyness Deyn and David Gandy and designer Henry Holland ran the London Marathon on Sunday. Holland shut it down with a time of 3h 28m — maybe his running gear had something to do with it. Gandy came in with a time of 4h  35m and Aggy in 4h 45m, despite bad knees from a skiing accident and running in 5-inch heels, respectively. [Vogue UK]

- Jason Wu clearly needs to get into the prom dress business. After dressing Karlie Kloss in 2009, the designer outfitted junior super Lindsey Wixon for the prom over the weekend. That certainly beats the tacky one-shouldered hoochiewear teenagers wear nowadays that often lead to 18 years of “Nights to Remember.” [Stylecaster]

- The bride wore Givenchy. Natasha Poly married her fiancé in Saint Tropez with the aid of Riccardo Tisci‘s elegant tailoring, a natural choice for the Givenchy regular. Poly looked gorgeous and her new husband…clearly has a lot of money. What? Love may be blind, but I’m not. [Modelina]

- Sister Act on Broadway means two things: 1.) Me front-row screaming “His Eye Is on the Sparrow” and 2.) 7,000 Swarovski crystals running through 23 of the show’s costumes. Patina Miller will don the sparkling habit when she makes her Broadway debut as Deloris Van Cartier, the role originated by EGOT-er and professional grumpygoose, Whoops Goldberg. [Racked]

- Lady Gaga‘s newest single “Judas” leaked on the internet and The Catholic League is already up on the cross about it. The song will be officially released tomorrow, the 19th and the accompanying video will feature Gaga portraying Mary Magdalene. The League had harsh words for the hitmaker, calling her “irrelevant” and “boring.” Meanwhile, pot meet kettle. [Hollywood Life]

Much credit is given to: a.) Aggy’s first editorial in British Vogue in “TWO years! [sic]“  in the May 2011 issue and b.) a “fresh pixie cut and dye job, calling to mind the Agyness of a few seasons ago.”  I’m not sure how “fresh” this cut is when it recalls  a past freshness, but fashion — contrary to popular belief — loves the familiar.

Deyn has been working, however…sort of…but with a cover of LOVE and an editorial here and there, it rarely compares to her utter ubiquity when she was an “It” model. Now there’s a new “It” model in town (or so I’m told) in Arizona Muse:

Before Muse, there was — and still is — Georgia May Jagger and Lara Stone and Karlie Kloss etc., etc. the catwalk goes on and on.

There will always be an “It” girl stomping down the block, but every supermodel has borne that label. And any supermodel worth her salt has “A Moment” — a return to the forefront, to stardom; hell, Naomi has “A Moment” whenever she assaults someone or smuggles in some blood diamonds. It’s all part of the game.

So don’t call it a comeback, Aggy’s been here for years.

Stephanie Seymour (July 23, 1968) As a muse for the late Richard Avedon, Stephanie Seymour created some of the best fashion photographs of the 90s, then upped the iconic ante when she strolled down the aisle as Axl Rose‘s bride (the two were dating at the time) in Guns and Roses‘ classic “November Rain” video. Though supermodels appearing in music videos was nothing new in 1992, very few looked as perfect as Seymour in that epic wedding dress. Perhaps a little too rock & roll for a royal wedding, but I would at least consider it, Kate Middleton.

Claudia Schiffer (Aug. 25, 1970) Reminiscent of a young Bridget Bardot, Claudia Schiffer’s sultry good looks catapulted her to supermodeldom in the early 90s. Though she made a comeback in a series of gorgeous ads for Salvatore Ferragamo in 2007, don’t expect to see Schiffer on a runway anytime soon; the German stunner maintains that she’s “very shy.” I’m the same way until I get a little liquor in me, hence, we just need to booze up Claudia and throw her — heels first — onto that catwalk. ASAP.

Heidi Klum (June 1, 1973) The ultimate Victoria’s Secret Angel, Klum hung up her wings for good in 2010 to focus on her thriving businesses: in addition to producing the Peabody Award-winning Project Runway (yeah, Heidi Klum has a Peabody), Klum has tried her hand at design, acting, painting not to mention re-populating the world with the help of her virile husband Seal…seriously, Heidi’s been pregnant nonstop for like the past ten years. I’m just going to say it, someone needs to separate those two.

Kate Moss (Jan. 16 1974) The kittenish face of “Heroin Chic,” Kate Moss’ arrival in 1990 sparked a sweeping change in the world of modeling. The glamazons of the 80s and early 90s now seemed outdated compared to the 5’7 Moss when she appeared in The Face magazine, shot by the late Corrine Day. Notoriously private — she rarely gives interviews — Kate Moss is still the most ubiquitous face in modeling of the past twenty years. As a regular in ad campaigns and a favorite muse for many photographers, Moss also practically owns the cover of British Vogue. Despite her amazing career, Kate has had her share of ups and downs…both fueled heavily by cocaine.

Tyra Banks (Dec. 4, 1973) Tyra Banks started off a rail-thin high fashion model before morphing into a voluptuous swimsuit cover girl, then a Victoria’s Secret Angel, then a fat-ass Emmy-winning talk show host and the professional smizer/creator of the now international Top Model series; in short, she is the ultimate model as mogul. And while I and a generation of other girls have learned everything we know about modeling from Ms. Banks (admittedly it took me a while to figure out how to find my light), she still has a few tricks up her sleeve (or in this case, turban), such as this shot from Vogue Italia’s iconic “Black Issue.”

Gisele (July 20, 1980) The last of the true supermodels, Gisele came along during the wave of Brazilian bombshells in the late 90s. With her athletic body and distinctive horse trot, she’s stayed at the top of the model heap for the past ten years, earning the one-name recognition to which all supers are entitled. Though there are several heirs to the throne (Karlie Kloss, Chanel Iman, Coco Rocha, Hilary Rhoda, Agyness Deyn, Anja Rubik, Jessica Stam, the list goes on and on…), the queen is not abdicating anytime soon.

According to a CSM spokesperson: ”He isn’t coming to study the MA course but he did visit the college regarding a separate issue last week.” I hope that “separate issue” involves renaming the college Central Saint Kanyes. Although she’s been busy in other arenas, Agyness Deyn recently returned to the field in which she broke into the mainstream consciousness, shooting an editorial for V. Titled Saint Mark’s Place, the shoot hearkens back to the areas once-punk aesthetic. Maybe it’s a weakness for pretty girls with shaved heads, but methinks Agyness is looking good.

Yes they were dressed in over-the-top designer duds but is that even cool anymore? In the ten + years since the show has gone off the air, we’ve seen the rise of Alexander Wang, Phillip Lim, American Apparel, “it” girls like Erin Wasson and Agyness, and stars like Alison Mosshart and MIA. At this point Carrie running around in a turban and Samantha in a red dress with spiked shoulders just looks circus costumes gone wrong. Their ensembles were so over-the-top I felt like I was watching rejects from the gay pride parade. Or the Meatpacking District. When the show first aired it was a revolution. It was a revolution for fashion, feminism, and the city of New York itself. But while the rest of us have moved on, Carrie and the girls are stuck on their own fabulousness (you too Madonna). Ladies it’s a wrap.

I’m currently playing this on heavy repeat at the Fashion Indie offices. The spring 2010 video lookbook for Adidas Originals features a bunch of models videotaping each other while dancing to the perfect soundtrack. Agyness Deyn, Ana Ivanovic, Cassandra Steen, Hyori Lee, Whitney Port, Tallulah Morton, Ciara and Cheer Chen all get their groove on and even Mark “The Cobrasnake” makes appearance.  The looks are now available on line.

For her latest venture since the decline of her modeling career, the British model stars in a 1930s-style short film, Mean to Me, directed by Peter McGough.

Her general likeness to Edie Sedgwick aside, Agyness Deyn has always reminded me of a pop art type of supermodel. Now, the British catwalker can add “film actress” to her calling card, because she stars in Peter McGough’s 13-minute film noir piece for the luxury Web site Nowness.com.

The short film, called “Mean to Me,” is about a 1930′s-era femme fatale (Deyn) who seeks revenge on an ex-lover who scorned her. Zac Posen designed custom gowns for Deyn’s character, who is sweet and loveable and cries at the end.

Maybe Deyn is thinking about acting full-time, since she mentioned that she’d like to quit modeling last summer. Or maybe it’s all just for fun and for a love of fashion. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Agyness Deyn has decided to add another slash to her long title. She’s created a special collection of 11 dresses, knits, scarves, t-shirts and leggings. Selling from $212 – $307 bucks, the collection is part of Barney’s environmental Go Green Go campaign. Proceeds go towards planting trees in Mongolia. The collection looks nothing like Aggy and is pretty boring. Expect to ignore it starting March 13th.

AGYNESS IN ASIA: Barneys Japan has teamed up with British model Agyness Deyn to produce a special collection of 11 items including dresses, knits, scarves, t-shirts and leggings, which retail from 18,900 yen, or about $212, to 27,300 yen, or $307. The initiative is part of Barneys’ environmental campaign Go Green Go and a portion of the proceeds will go towards the planting of trees in inner Mongolia

I could go on for hours, but for the sake of my precious time, I’m going to make this brief. G-Star’s Fall 2010 collection was awful. Ask anyone during Fashion Week how excited they are for the G-Star show and they’ll definitely agree it’s one of the most entertaining productions and well styled shows, even if they’re not crazy about denim and dark utility wear. But despite last night’s packed house, I didn’t see one face at all impressed with this season’s garb. In fact, Carine Roitfeld, Editor-In-Chief of Vogue Paris, was so disgusted that picking her nails seemed a more appropriate use of her time. Even Agyness Deyn couldn’t bare to look as she texted the majority of the show.

So what was so bad about this season’s collection? Well, let’s start with the colors. Rubber-duck yellow, Kermit the Frog green and Gonzo blue. And how about the designs? Toggle ponchos, denim diaper shorts, rain boots and slickers comprised the majority of the collection. Mix the horrendous color choice with the miserable designs and a few cheesy, choreographed poses and it’s plain to see why I had to make a strong drink upon my return home from the show.

I’ve actually been the store here in China and the clothes are rather lackluster. This was the big Twilight weekend across the nation, and with sales reaching $140 million over the weekend, the Twilight “crew” had more than enough reasons to party.D&G sponsored the Twilight party (which was held at The Box) that brought out some of New York’s finest including models, musical artists, socials, and of course actors.

The launch of GUCCI ICON-TEMPORARY, a flash sneaker store that will travel the world beginning in October 2009 with its first stop in
New York City on 43 Crosby Street. Frida Giannini has collaborated with Mark Ronson on a limited collection of sneakers.

The opening was last week and boy were there tons of celebs, including: Mary J. Blige, Claire Danes (so cute and tiny in person), Wyclef Jean, Evan Rachel Wood, Mischa Barton, Poppy Delevingne, Leigh Lezark (this girl can totally rock 5 inch heels), Agyness Deyn, Alexander Wang, Julia Restoin Roitfeld, Alex Skarsgard (True Blood fame) and many many more. Red velvet cupcakes and turtle cheesecake was served along with white only wine and champagne.

In lieu of Albert Hammond Jr’s entrance into rehab, model girlfriend Agyness Deyn has given up drinking alcohol. Deyn was spotted ordering water instead of consuming the plethora of alcoholic beverages at an event this week. Talk about a support system!

Aggy is just a heart breaker! Just weeks after their split, Albert Hammond Jr. (guitar player for the strokes and formerly Miss Deyn’s other half) has been checked into rehab. Seems like he didn’t take the break up too well. Meanwhile, Agyness has new hair color and is carrying on like nothing happened. I knew I secretly loved her! Stone cold just the way I like ‘em! I’m sure this is a result of Albert realizing he just lost the only thing keeping him in any way relevant.
