- ”People have never looked so ugly… We are so conformist, nobody is thinking. I’m a fashion designer and people think ‘what do I know?’ but I’m talking about all this disposable crap. So I’m saying buy less, choose well, make it last.” — delightful harridan Vivienne Westwood. [Guardian]
- Speaking of delightful harridans, these paper dolls of Dame Maggie Smith‘s sublime Dowager Countess from Downton Abbey are everything. Ever. [Vulture]
- America’s Next Top Model is still happening. Now in its 18th cycle, this time around it’s a “British Invasion” with seven British models versus seven American models. Sort of like a 21st century Revolutionary War with bikinis and smizing. [The Cut]

- Nicole Richie is the latest celeb — we’re still calling her that, right? — to jump on the home shopping network bandwagon with a line for QVC. [WWD, sub req'd]
- Going through Karlie Kloss withdrawal? Take a hit of this video for Topshop starring the elusive super. [Fashionista]

The 99% showed up to the Bowery Hotel on Jan. 31st and camped themselves on the second floor. But if this crowd wanted to occupy, they might’ve easily bought room nights for the masses

Designers. Start your collections. Now. I’ll be back in exactly 24 hours, and it had better be good and done. That, my dear, is the premise of Lifetime‘s newest competitive fashion show, 24 Hour Catwalk, hosted by our dear Alexa Chung. In each episode, four designers will create a garment, and two will be eliminated. The two remaining designers will then each create a three-piece collection with the aid of professional and mouthy sewers. At the end of those 24 hours, they present to the judges: design star and collab-addict Cynthia Rowley, PR guru James LaForce (sans Stevens) and the Very Classy fashion editor Derek Blasberg. It premieres Januray 10, 2012. See the sneak preview here.

In a rare, and unstaged, show of emotion — public or otherwise — Victoria Beckham wiped away a tear as she collected her award for Designer Brand at the 2011 British Fashion Awards. Thanking her husband and 13 children, Beckham beat out industry vets Tom Ford, Burberry and Stella McCartney – who still managed to win the Red Carpet award – to snatch her first BFA trophy. Alexander McQueen’s Sarah Burton was awarded the Designer of the Year award while Christopher Kane beat out Erdem and Jonathan Saunders to take home the inaugural New Establishment prize, which recognizes “a particular movement in British fashion that is taking the industry by storm.” Gallery and list of the winners follows after the jump.

- Leave it up to Terry Richardson to perv up Kate Moss’s surprisingly classy wedding. That said, his pictorial guide to her festivities is irresistible, especially since he’s taken said photos off his Tumblr (not to worry, you can still see them after the jump!). Something smells suspiciously like Wintour. [Styliete & The Cut]

London born style muse and now a model signed to Elite Model Management Poppy Delevigne, attended the Chanel Collection Croisiere Show earlier this month, in the chicness of France, where she rocked the best outfit there, along side Alexa Chung of course.
