FASHION SCRAMBLE: Shulman’s Wedding Fake Out + Liz Up for Sale + Fashion in Silhouette

- British Vogue Editor, Alexandra Shulman, wanted to “remove the question of who would be designing the dress,” by offering a slew of designs by British and non-British designers. Of course, the dress to which she is referring is Kate Middleton‘s already legendary wedding gown that no one knows about or has seen yet. Talk about living up to the hype. Designers included in Shulman’s bridal issue include Oscar de la Renta, Vivienne Westwood and Bruce Oldfield, all featured on the cover and described as Shulman as the prettiest. Well, thankfully that question’s been removed: it’s totes one of those three. [WWD]

Christopher Kane Wins the 2011 BFC/Vogue Fashion Fund Award

The young, bright designer Christopher Kane was announced the 2011 winner of the BFC/Vogue Fashion Fund Award by British Vogue‘s editor Alexandra Shulman and the British Fashion Council. Kane is receiving a little more than $300,000 to further his already successful business. He defeated very stiff competition including designers Richard Nicoll, Charlotte Olympia, Nicholas Kirkwood, Jonathan Saunders, Peter Pilotto, E. Tautz and Osman Yousefzada.
