Campus Tour: The smallest state also has a small design program that is focused on quality garment making from every angle. The program follows a garment through its entire lifecycle, from the creative design and tailoring, to a focus on sustainably producing goods on both small and large scale in a socially and environmentally minded manner. An entirely student run fashion magazine, UDress, and fashion shows exist outside of class, working to show and pull fashion out of this college driven town.

É isso mesmo, triplo. Tanto tempo que eu não faço um sorteio – isso sem contar o sorteio “londrino” que acabou não acontecendo – que, pra valer o tempo perdido, esse vai ser triplo. Isso quer dizer que três pessoas serão sorteadas para três prêmios diferentes. O primeiro sorteio é hoje mesmo, com os seguidores do blog que já estão presentes aqui (mas o resultado só sai amanhã de manhã!). Os dois próximos sorteios ocorrerão na 4a feira e no sábado, respectivamente. Se você não é seguidor aberto do blog através do Google Friend Connect é simples: antes de 4a feira (ou sábado!) você tem que seguir abertamente o blog. Para fazê-lo é só clicar no “follow” na coluna da direita (do lado do monte de carinhas bonitinhas) e estará automaticamente concorrendo. Mas tem que seguir abertamente porque senão eu não tenho como te ver (e te premiar)! Lembrando que eu fecho as entradas às 7pm horário de Brasília do dia determinado.

Ao primeiro sorteio: ele é o tal sorteio londrino, perdido no espaço. Dado que está fazendo um friozinho gostoso no Brasil, aproveitei para comprar umas meias-calça muito lindas que achei na H&M, além de um vestido da Primark que vai perfeitamente com as meias. De “brinde” vai uma shopper da Alice Temperley – eu sou fã de bolsas de tecido ao invés de sacolas de plástico, então pode ter certeza que sempre que eu tiver algumas de bobeira por aqui, elas irão de “brinde”!

O segundo sorteio: Há tempos atrás eu mandei um e-mail para o pessoal da assessoria de imprensa e relações públicas da Diet Coke UK falando como o mundo blogueiro do Brasil ficou em polvorosa com os esmaltes que a Nails Inc. havia feito especialmente para a Diet Coke e a promoção com a Boots. E que eu, morando por aqui, havia tentando comprar os esmaltes para fazer um sorteio e não consegui uma das cores. Eles foram suuuuper gentis comigo, adoraram saber que os brasileiros estavam tão ligados assim na moda britânica e, carinhosamente, me enviaram um kit completinho dos esmaltes! E, obviamente, eu não ia mantê-los comigo. Por isso mesmo eles são o prêmio do segundo sorteio! Junto com os esmaltes irá uma shopper da Moschino Cheap and Chic – que, particularmente, amei de paixão. Mas, promessa é dívida, e eu havia prometido a mim mesma que todas as shoppers novas que eu recebesse iam pro blog.

O terceiro sorteio: Uma combinação que parece de verão mas funciona tão bem no inverno! Uma bolsa floral da Blanco no estilo das Chanel 2.55, uma blusinha da Paul and Joe e um duo de esmaltes, o Mouse da American Apparel (a versão “Particulière” da AP!) e o Paris da coleção especial limitada que a Diet Coke fez com a Nails Inc. e a Boots. Esse sorteio vai sem shopper porque, afinal, já tem uma bolsa!

We tell you all the time that music is a great source of inspiration for tons of designers everywhere. It’s only a matter of time before people started to wonder what that music was, and now you can listen to it! The website Tonic has launched a Celebrity Ipod Auction Series. Listen to all of your beloved designers’ favorite tunes. Every week a new group of signed ipods is up for auction.

 The auctions are all intended to benefit Music Rising, an organization that works to replace damaged or lost instruments in a particular hurricane affected region.  This week Donna Karan and Marc Jacobs are on the list!

Alice Temperley has closed the door on the runway show in London, stating that the economy is a bitch yada, yada, yada.  This is one of the first London based designers to skip the runway in exchange for the modeless presentation/installation route.

The designer is currently working on a presentation to take place in New York, London and Paris in association with MILK Studios and Starworks.

If this is a route more and more designers take we could be seeing to the end of fashion week as we know it.

Alice Temperley has designed the One & Only Tipi by Temperley London, which is now offered to guests at One & Only Le Saint Géran. The 17 foot-tall tent is hand-stitched and decorated with jewels with a Parisian glass chandelier–perfect for romantic escapes, yoga, lavish spa treatments or a fine “glampfire” dinner.

Can someone please explain to me why anyone would need a jewel encrusted tipi with a chandelier (you are in the middle of the beach for god’s sake)? Honestly, I guess in exclusive resorts or spas, but do we need designers hand stiching these. Only for the rich and famous…
