Reshma Shetty, star of Royal Pains, stopped by the Caravan Stylist Studio… she is so cool… we picked out some things for Spring time…. See below for some of her finds but while she was checking things out I got to do a quick interview with her….

Today what are looking for at the Studio?

Clothing, fun jewelry and handbags

What type of items are you looking for right now? Certain shoes, certain types of dresses?

I love the sequined “indian themed” gladiator sandals I see that are “in” this season and I love maxi dresses!

Who are some of your favorite designers?

I love Vivienne Tam, Cynthia Steffe and I recently wore Zac Posen and Naeem Khan and loved their clothes.

What are your favorite colors to wear?

I love green and I love shades of red

What is one of your favorite dresses/outfits you recently wore and where did you wear it?

I loved a Naeem Khan dress I wore recently to the premiere of “Life” for the Discovery Channel at Lincoln Center.

Who is your style icon?

I love Kate Winslet’s red carpet choices. Icon wise I think Audrey Hepburn because she was grace incarnate.

What magazines / websites do you love to read to get fashion inspiration?

Vogue or Allure

Do you have a favorite movie that has amazing fashion inspiration/ costume design?

I loved all the costumes in Elizabeth and on television I love the designs in Mad Men. I also enjoyed the story of “Chanel” with Audrey Tatou.

If you could sit down with one designer for dinner, who would it be and where would you want to go with that person?

I would love to sit down with Tom Ford and have a burger at the Shake Shack! Just cos!

While Reshma was at the studio she picked up a lot of fun dresses, shorts, cardigans, tanks, jewelry and handbags. We tried to find items with some fun pops of color.

Here are some examples of some of the fun earrings, dresses and cardigans & lipgloss that she picked up from – Moods Of Norway, Shopthelook.net, Bobi, and Kipling.

We love those cozy cardigans from Moods of Norway because they are dressy but so comfortable. You can dress it up by wearing it with a little dress or pair it with a pair of jeans or shorts. bobi is an amazing brand with great price points. And shopthelook.net has amazing jewelry finds…. And Kipling has the coolest bags that are just well made and everyone always gets compliments on them and lastly Junk Food- Reshma has awesome taste she picked out a U2 Boy shirt from Junk Food… If you don’t own a Junk Food top run now and get one – they are so comfortable… I can live in them.

1. Jessica Simpson wore a gray T-shirt, J Brand jeans, and Yves Saint Laurent boots to the shoot. Between takes, she slipped into sandals that she had brought with her, from her latest shoe collection. “I prefer heels to flats any day,” the singer said of the sky-high nude wedges. Here, she poses for Norman Jean Roy in a silk dress by Lanvin and bangles by Rosena Sammi.

2. For her new VH1 show, Jessica Simpson’s The Price of Beauty (which premieres at 10 P.M. EDT on March 15), Simpson traveled to seven foreign countries to explore different concepts of beauty. “When I think of America, it’s very diverse, but we do have the cookie-cutter way we’re supposed to look, and going to all these countries, it’s so completely different. I was fascinated going on that journey to discover that, even just for myself,” said Simpson, here in a Fendi dress.

3. Simpson was game for the toned-down look the Allure team had in mind for her. “After learning what beauty means to different women around the world, we wanted to celebrate Jessica’s individual beauty,” said her hairstylist Ken Paves, who also appears on Jessica Simpson’s The Price of Beauty.

4. “Jessica usually looks classic,” explained makeup artist Jeannia Robinette. “I chose to make her more raw.” First, Robinette smudged a shimmery black shadow along Simpson’s top and bottom lash lines before curling the lashes and coating them with mascara. Next, she brushed on peachy pink blush and dabbed on lip balm mixed with a rose-colored stain.

5. “I wanted to make her hair look glamorous but lived-in,” said Paves. He clipped two rows of extensions onto the bottom half of Simpson’s head, then he curled all her hair before brushing it through. Paves kept the curls round and perky with a dose of hair spray.

6. Simpson is aware of the strengths of her goofy persona. “I’m vulnerable in any moment,” says Simpson. “I don’t care if the cameras are on or not, you’re going to get the real me. There’s no reason to mask that, because that’s what has given me the chance to be in a powerful position.”

7. Simpson’s weight was criticized after a photo was taken of her in high-waisted jeans. The result sometimes leads to backhanded compliments. “When I walk through an airport and people go, ‘You’re not fat!’ I’m like, ‘Thanks. Thanks. That’s great. Good to know I’m not fat today. Thank you!’”

8. America’s weight obsession is, as Simpson puts it, “disgusting. My job is to be creative,” she says. “And I’m not weighing in for anybody.”

9. When asked about turning 30 this July, Simpson says, “I never really thought, growing up, ‘What am I gonna be like when I’m 30?’ I just kind of thought I had it figured it out: I’m going to be this great pop star, have my songs on the radio, be married, and have babies….But things can be taken away from you. A song can not be played on the radio. An album can not work. The pressures of life have come to me at a very young age, and it’s how you deal with those pressures and who you surround yourself with that continue to feed your soul.”

10. Although she received a lackluster response to her two most recent acting efforts, Employee of the Month and Blonde Ambition, Simpson hardly counts herself out of the movie business. “I already have a whole other world of business out there,” she says, referring to her apparel, accessories, and fragrance lines, “so acting for me will be very, very selective from here on out. But I will never do nudity,” she insists. “I don’t care how dark and intellectual the role could be, you know? I don’t care if I frickin’ get an Oscar for it, I’m not going to do it. Those accolades mean nothing to me….I don’t think people deserve to see what’s underneath my clothing. That’s only for my next husband—ha ha ha!”

11. When she discusses her next potential partner, Simpson, who is rumored to be dating former Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan says, “I definitely will marry an artistic man. It will show you the colors of my character, the person that I fall in love with next. I don’t even have a type! I don’t have a physical type. I have an emotional type. When you have yourself together, I don’t care what you look like at all. You can be tall; you can be short.”

12. What’s next for Simpson? “The performer is what people saw in me in the beginning. It would be nice to reintroduce myself as that,” she says. But she’s determined to make something clear: She’s the one calling the shots. “I am hands-on with my life. I direct my life,” she says. “I didn’t realize that until this year, when people were trying to take that away from me. I’m still here, and I have a comment. I always have a comment.”

Jessica has always been one of my favorite celebrities. I like her humble demeanor……..she doesn’t come off fake and shallow like some of her peers. She is a true beauty.

Though I’m certainly not at any age to run to CVS and pick up some anti-aging products, this gotme a little angry. On the premiere of the documentary Youth Knows No Pain, on HBO last night, Allure editor Linda Wells came clean about these products.

Ms. Wells begins to explain though the products don’t actually do what you want, if they make you feel better then it’s not a bad thing to go purchase. Okay, I get the whole psychological aspect that she’s hinting at, but don’t say it’s not a bad thing to purchase a product that doesn’t work! It’s not like everyone thinks these are miracle products, but they had some faith in them. Well, maybe not anymore.

When’s the last time we saw Julia Roberts on a magazine cover?

Well, she’s back, blonde, and on the March 2009 issue of Allure.

Another day, another tragedy in glossyland. Ads are down and Vogue leads the pack with the largest drop in pages.

Would it be bad to rub it in now, or should I wait for later?

I’ve never been a big fan of the glossy world of fashion. Magazines have always seemed like a dead technology and being that since I could type I’ve gotten my info from the internet, I’ve always known it was merely a matter of time before the old print and mighty saw some declines and was forced to play the even, democratizing field called the World Wide Web. Well, last quarters numbers are in and boy does it look very, very bad. Expect some more firings and dare I say it, Anna Wintour on the subway, within the year.
“Allure saw a 35 percent drop in ad pages to 214 pages in the first quarter, while Vogue declined 28 percent, or 218 pages, to a total of 563 for the period. Glamour declined 22 percent to 291, and W posted a 40 percent drop, or 218 ad pages, for the quarter, carrying 322 pages. Glamour’s 291 ad pages this quarter reflect a 22 percent slide. And as same-store sales at retailers continue to slide, shopping magazine Lucky saw a 35 percent contraction in ad pages, raking in 203 pages for the first quarter.

At Hearst Magazines, Town & Country has seen a 30 percent decline in the quarter: The magazine carried 247 pages for the first three issues of the year. Harper’s Bazaar carried 396 pages, a 21 percent decrease compared to 2008, while Cosmopolitan’s 305 pages are 48 pages, or 14 percent, below last year’s total. O, The Oprah Magazine reported a 20 percent slide in pages, to 305. Marie Claire is off 16 percent, totaling 214 ad pages. Meanwhile, Elle dropped 26 percent, gathering 435 pages through March. In Style, whose publisher, Lynette Harrison Brubaker, is leaving the Time Inc. title, reported a 29 percent drop in paging, to 436.”
