SPREAD UM: Amber Valletta By Heidi Slimane For V Magazine September ‘09 [EXCLUSIVE]

Finally, magazines are going back to where they should: spreads that actually have models (okay, Amber Valletta is an actress too) and not celebrities. Thank you V!

With September just around the corner, the big issues are coming out. Harper’s Bazaar (US) played with a lot of different things this season, even Aggy and Leighton Meester as cover pics. See more from these spreads on Cult.

SPREAD UM: “Supermodels Supernaturals” by Peter Lindberg for Harpers Bazaar September ‘09

The super model loving lives on, but airbrushing dies? Hmm… I’ll see that when I believe it. Harpers claims that there is no makeup or airbrushing used in this editorial, and I’m not sure about that either. Regardless the models, in their 30’s and 40’s look amazing. Another plus is the sharing of supermodel approved beauty tips, such as not to eat dairy because it can lead to break outs from Claudia Schiffer.
QUOTABLE: Hussein Chalayan
It seems to me that I’m not the only one annoyed by celebrity multitaskers, because designer Hussein Chalayan had this to say about models, like Kate Moss, Erin Wasson, Elle Macpherson, and Amber Valletta, who also design clothing:
“If you have a really strong sense of style and people want to aspire to being like you, I can understand that,” he says. “But if you really are doing it just because you think of yourself as a brand and you haven’t had the training and you know nothing about clothes, it kind of demeans all the training that designers have had.”
Thanks NY Mag!
MOMENTS OF STYLE: Amber Valletta
Model and actress Amber Valletta looked fabulous in Oscar de la Renta’s Resort 2010 silver crinkle lamé dress at Monday night’s World Oceans Day. Talk about fitting like a glove. Perfection.

FASHION PORN: Steven Klein’s Bathroom Video Starring Amber Valletta

Steven Klein’s much anticipated bathroom video staring Amber Valletta, titled ‘Clorox Blue,’ will go live today. She stars alongside two male models, Tyson Ballou and Ryan Snyder.
Pipeline called it “a racier, sexier, less traumatizing version of that men’s bathroom scene from American History X. And with better clothes.” Sounds HOT!!!
ADDICT: Loewe S/S 09 Ad Campaign Shot by Steven Klein

The S/S 09 ad campaign for Loewe is so fucking awesome I can barely stand it. As if the Spanish fashion house isn’t awesome enough, Steven Klein came in and took things to another level. No woman has ever looked so stylish lounging by the pool than Amber Valletta does in this set of photos. All of the garments, particularly the coats, look absolutely amazing. And the shot where model Garrett Neff is diving into the water over Valletta’s lounge chair with those gorgeous mountains in the background? Priceless. Summer, where the fuck are you?

Moments of Style: Amber Valletta
Amber Valletta this shimmering Stella McCartney Spring 2009 jumpsuit with a dusty pink oversized blazer to the GQ Men of the Year Awards.
Honestly, when I saw this on the runway I didn’t like it, but in person (well, sitting here staring) it looks great. Love the blazer over it, perfect way to wear the jumpsuit…
Thanks Fabulousness for the pics

Eye “Popping” Covers

Fashion forward magazine, Pop, has created six amazing Fall issue covers. Also similar to Italian Vogue, Pop features women of color. Each cover features a different iconic model: Jourdan Dunn, Naomi Campbell, Agyness Deyn, Oluchi Onweagba, Natalia Vodianova and Amber Valletta grace the covers, in Prada. The issue pays homage to the 80’s era and moreover the fabulousness of 80’s fashion culture. The culmination of stunning supermodels and love for Studio 54 should make this issue it’s best yet!
