RUNWAY RUNDOWN: Orange Spring 2010
Angela Chen’s Spring 2010 Orange collection looks like it could land among the edgy designers sold at Oak. A whole lot of draping and a whole lot of dropping comprise the small, but mighty, collection. For being such a new and young designer, Chen lands among the stars of downtown fashion.

Angela Chen A/W 08
Angela Chen is one of my fave indie designers… Inspired by rain, this collection is soft and feminine yet very structured and makes a statement. I especially love the first piece, which can be worn in so many different ways for Fall.
Designer: Angela Chen
Angela Chen has hit the streets and not without making a mark. Angela’s collection, titled “Orange”, is an impressive line of hand-knitted dresses that sparkle. The collection has inspirational roots from Angela’s past in Taiwan. The rain in Taiwan made a lasting impression on Angela and is the central idea in creating the extensive collection. Angela says of her collection, “[it] mimics the many temperaments of rain—its degrees in texture, rhythm and the ability to imbue a richer tone to everything it kisses”. Angela is a designer who loves to experiment with a purpose; all attempts to create a line reflective of its inspiration are successful due to experimentation with texture. The various dresses never fail to propose a statement; that statement being their undeniable purpose.
