The eccentric editrix will design a range of accessories for the fast fashion retailer including sunglasses, shoes, jewelry, bags and a trolley suitcase.

“This is the sign of an important evolution in fashion and I am both thrilled and humbled to be the one chosen to lead it,” Dello Russo said. “I wanted to create precious accessories that are impossible to find. With these pieces everybody can have fun, turning an ordinary day into a fantastic fashion day.”

H&M creative advisor  Margareta van den Bosch adds, ”Anna has a fantastic eye and a strong taste, apart from being a veritable fashion icon. The collection is a celebration of excess, fantasy and decoration.”

While Simons had been in talks with Christian Dior to take over after John Galliano threw himself on the altar of shame and scandal, according to WWD, the “parties failed to reach an agreement and it appears unlikely Simons will join the French firm.” And there we have it. Dior is said to be considering using a team in lieu of a singular designer as well as “ possibly adding some young, up-and-coming talents.”

As for Simons, professional spirit animal Anna Dello Russo has some thoughts on his next step. Speaking to Fashionista yesterday, Dello Russo prophesied, “I think he [Simons] will concentrate on his own line, [with] his name. I think maybe adding womens next to men.”

BFF Naomi Campbell was one of her bridesmaids, and in a show of solidarity, Moss chose a wedding dress by John Galliano. 4. The reinvention of Carine Roitfeld Quele scandale! Did she get fired? Did she quit? Are she and Emmanuelle Alt no longer friends? The rumors have been buzzing around Carine Roitfeld since she officially exiting Vogue Paris in February -- and in the process creating a future supermodel in Saskia de Brauw --  after 10 landmark, nipple-bearing years. But through it all, Carine has been the picture of calm and chic, hiking up her pencil skirt and reinventing herself as a brilliant and in-demand stylist/the coolest bitch on the planet. Stay tuned for another reinvention when Carine launches a new magazine and starts life as a grandmother next year.

3. Kate Middleton's Alexander McQueen wedding dress The speculation was unbearable for what was the biggest and most well-kept secret in an age of superfluous information. Though an unsurprising but nevertheless brilliant choice, Sarah Burton's handiwork cemented the Duchess of Cambridge (née Kate Middleton) as not only a bona fide style icon but a phenomenon on both sides of the Atlantic. Meanwhile, Burton proved she was the right person to carry on McQueen's brilliant legacy and take it to the next level.

Alexander McQueen's Savage Beauty The most successful fashion exhibit in the Metropolitan Museum of Art's  history, Alexander McQueen's Savage Beauty set records and inspired fashion lovers and neophytes alike. The exhibit proved so popular, in fact, the Met extended its run twice. Even then, there were still lines of people waiting hours to get into the museum, but for 661,509 people it was well-worth the wait.

1. John Galliano stars in Gallianogate John Galliano's downfall has loomed large all year, particularly since Christian Dior has yet to announce his replacement, despite a neverending back-and-forth with a stubborn Marc Jacobs. Following a stint in rehab, a guilty conviction in Paris for making anti-Semitic remarks, and the general destruction of his reputation, Galliano at least had one bright spot this year: designing good friend Kate Moss' wedding dress. Galliano's dismissal also raised questions about the stress designers are under to deliver  multiple collections a year -- just ask Balmain's Christophe Decarnin. Everyone's still waiting to see who Dior picks to take the throne and if Galliano can make a comeback after such a devastating fall. As 2011 comes to a close, 2012 has the promise of even more scandals, breakdowns and breakthroughs that we cannot wait to cover obsessively for you. - Lady Gaga‘s newest single “Judas” leaked on the internet and The Catholic League is already up on the cross about it. The song will be officially released tomorrow, the 19th and the accompanying video will feature Gaga portraying Mary Magdalene. Ye reportedly met with the head of the course, Professor Louise Wilson, to discuss his future matriculation before jetting off to Paris to hang with Anna Dello Russo and take in the shows at Fashion Week.

A source tells The Sun:

“Kanye spends a lot of time with fashion students and often hooks up with Central’s arty pupils when he is in London. The rapper already has work experience with Fendi and Louis Vuitton on his CV. Now that he has been interviewed the school’s board will have to decide whether to allow him to start the MA fashion course later this year.”

West’s few high-profile internships may not be enough to sway the notoriously intractable Wilson, as rumors abound hat ”he has been turned down for a place because his portfolio wasn’t up to standard.”

If Kanye does make it through the program, however, he will join CSM’s list of luminary alumni, which includes designers Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, Gareth Pugh, Christopher Kane,  Zac Posen, Matthew Williamson and Hussein Chalayan.

Let’s just hope he was taking notes while sitting front row so he can get that portfolio up to snuff.

Do you read fashion blogs?
Yes of course! I started at the beginning of 2010 because of all this interest in this online digital media, but I always followed Scott (Schuman), Garance and Tommy Tom since they started.

My favs are: The Sartorialist, Garance Doré, Jak and Jil, BryanBoy, Chic Muse, Shelby, All The Pretty Birds, Purple Diary, Self Service Blog, Style Rookie, The Love Magazine, Swide Magazine, and Scala Regia.

None. I like to see every show. I really enjoy the vibe when the shows start.

Shoes! I can survive without clothes, but I will die if i don’t get the right shoes. I collect them I have more than 4,000 pairs of shoes and if I can wear a Zara dress, I cannot wear cheap shoes.

Because I travel so much I like to shop properly in each different city. For example US designers in NYC (Marc Jacobs, Phi, Proenza Schouler, Alexander Wang, Joseph Altuzarra, Rodarte,) French designers in Paris, and Italian designers in Milan.

To not get old! Fashion keeps me young and keeps my eyes fresh. I have to update myself every morning.  I’m so curious  about all the visionary phenomena that changes the contemporary scenario. I call myself  “the vestal of fashion” because for me fashion is a muse and you must seduce her.  How? You have to feed the creative fire, so it doesn’t vanish.

If you’ve been given a weekend to do anything, anywhere, what would you do?

I love to do intensive workshop of Astanga yoga completed by a long swim, meditation, and pranayama.

Carine Roitfeld. She has always fascinated me with her intriguing attitude and her incredible way of dressing.

I always say that the visibility is not enough to start in this profession, it’s  hard work.  You need to assist some editors with humbleness and devotion for a least 10 years. You must to do without speaking and with a watchful eyes only to learn.

A Saleswoman. I love buying clothes and I’d  like to be in a shop dressing up  other women.
