I am head-over-heels for Anna in this look. The very talented and sexy actress looks extremely chic in the edgy ensemble. Okay, who is ready for True Blood to return?

Carrie Underwood: “When I gain weight, it’s in the spare-tire area. I’ve told trainers abs are a physical impossibility for me. And every single time, they’re like, ‘Well, we’ll get you abs!’ So do I have them? No! But they’re as flat as they’re probably going to get. Push-ups work out everything. If you do them right, you’ll feel it in your abs. I do four sets of 10 to 20.”

Jessica Alba: Alba does this all-over toning move: Begin standing and holding 5lb dumbbells – your left arm should be chin height and your right arm should be extended to the ceiling. Take a giant step to your right, landing in a lunge, with your right knee bent and angled slightly forward. Keep your left leg straight while simultaneously lowering right arm to shoulder height. Pause momentarily, then push off your right leg, returning to the starting position with your feet together and right arm extended to ceiling. Perform 12 reps then repeat on left side. Perform 2 sets.

Cheryl Cole: While in girl band Girls Aloud Cheryl lost a lot of weight, and this was mostly down to the hectic schedule and continuous rehearsals and gigs, which simply meant she was burning a lot of calories doing dance workouts. Cheryl would often perform this fitness routine, as devised by the bands personal trainer: 30 minutes running on the treadmill. 60 minutes weight training exercises.

Zoe Saldana: Instead of only sweating to look good for one big event, Saldana strives to make healthy habits second nature. “After the premiere of Avatar, Steve felt like my training dropped off and he was like, ‘You need to come back.’ He was right, you really have to nurture your body,” she explains. “I have a lot of respect for people who do it, because it’s a lifestyle.”

Rihanna: Rihanna admits her body is the result of “a lot of hard work and a lot of running on the treadmill.” Carbs are the enemy but if I go three days without them, I start getting weak. If my trainer had her way, I’d eat small meals every three hours, but I sometimes only eat once or twice a day. I work out every day but I need a trainer to motivate me – I don’t find it much fun working out on my own.” “Everyone wants to have slim, perfectly-toned legs and I’m the same. I do weights but I don’t want my legs to bulk up so I do a lot of cardio. I’ve lost a lot of weight since I started working out and if I exercise every day for a week, I can drop several pounds. If I diet, I see even faster results.”

Adriana Lima: Exercises 2 hours 6 days a week. Working out should be a part of everybody’s routine,” she says. “I know sometimes you don’t have time — that’s why I love jumping rope, because you can take it with you anywhere and you don’t need to do it, like, one hour. You can do it ten minutes and it’s like 45 minutes of running.”

Amanda Seyfried: “Running a half hour four to five days a week keeps me alright–five days, because I feel guilty when I don’t. I also go to Harley Pasternak’s three times a week, and I love it. He’s fun and we do different things every time. It’s 45 minutes, and he kicks my ass! My legs are really strong, and I feel really great. And I go to my pilates teacher, Nikiko, on the weekends–she’s all about stretching and toning and being long and lean.”

Anna Paquin: “I like to mix things up so I’m not doing the same thing every single day,” she said. She also works out on the elliptical and stationary bike she keeps in her garage. “Let’s face it, gyms aren’t open at four in the morning. So if I can’t do anything else, I can get a perfectly good workout in my garage!”

Miranda Kerr: Miranda spends about four sessions of 75 minutes each at the gym. Her workout is usually a combination of exercises targeting all muscle groups, but which places emphasis on her legs. Thus, Gelband says, Kerr does 30 minutes on her legs, 30 on her core, arms and balance, and 15 minutes on stretching afterwards. To keep her legs lean and toned (and, of course, cellulite-free), Miranda also does a 5-kilometer run and weight work, plus some boxing on the side.

Katy Perry: While Perry admits she hates working out, she stays fit by jumping rope. “I love jumping rope,” she said. “It’s like dancing. I can double jump, I can cross, I can do all of it. I look like Rocky!” “On holidays I eat whatever I feel like,” she told Women’s Health. “But on tour the catering is a lot of grilled chicken—nothing fried. Everything is organic, and I have soy milk. No chips in sight—if they’re in front of you, you eat them.”

Beyoncé: An upper body workout can get boring with all those repetitions, so Knowles added her own twist. “I’ll put on a song that I really like and do [biceps curls with] 5-pound weights the whole song,” she told us. Or, using 3-pound weights, she’ll box for the length of one track. [Doesn't count, everyone knows Beyoncé is a robot.]

Megan Fox: “I’m very lazy. I hire a personal trainer who is supposed to come three times a week. He comes to me – I don’t even have to leave the house. He’ll come to my house and I’ll be lying in the exact same spot he left me in. I’ll be like: ‘Not today! Not today!’” Even though Fox doesn’t like to exercise, she does it in order to keep those flat abs. She starts with 30 minutes of cardio, and then another half an hour of Pilates or cycling to burn some more calories and keep her slim figure.

Oh Yes They Did: Oh No They Didn’t!

The show started off with a Glee-themed fagtastic bang with Tina Fey, Jane Lynch, Jon Hamm and last living Golden Girl Betty White (some say she’s overexposed, but she’s 800 years old and could go any minute so I’ll take as much as I can, thank you) joining the Glee kids and Fallon for a cover of “Born to Run.” It was pretty much downhill from there, but it was a gentle and slow descent, made more comfortable by getting all the fun awards out early.

Proving that there is a god somewhere, Jane Lynch (woefully sans a pantsuit yet again) picked up the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy. Eric Stonestreet won a well-deserved Outstanding Supporting Actor for Modern Family, which also went home with the Outstanding Comedy Series trophy at the end of the night.

Edie Falco won her fourth Emmy, this time for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. A controversial choice, perhaps, but Carmine Soprano literally shits Emmys . I’m holding out hope for Amy Poehler next year, though, that is if Parks and Rec makes it that long. And some guy from some show on CBS I will continue to ignore, I mean, Jim Parsons won Lead Actor.

My frequent nemesis January Jones might have lost to Kyra Sedgwick for Outstanding Lead Actress in  a Drama, but she won best dressed in my book, wearing a gorgeous Atelier Versace gown. Though I wish she had done her hair in a chignon and left the messy bed head hair to Cammy Diaz.

Aaron Paul -- Wrap him up, I'll take him to go.

Bryan Cranston picked up his third consecutive Emmy for Lead Actor for Breaking Bad and his hottie of a co-star Aaron Paul won for Supporting. Newcomer Archie Panjabi took home Outstanding Supporting Actress for The Good Wife. Then Mad Men sauntered off with the Outstanding Drama Series for the third year in a row.

Though Betty White and Neil Patrick Harris won for their guest starring roles on SNL and Glee, respectively, their trophies were handed out at the Shmemmys earlier, thus robbing us of what would surely have been a hot and heavy make-out session everyone…?…the gays…?…okay, that I have been anticipating since the nominees were announced.

That was one of a few disappointments in an otherwise — dare I say it? — great show. The awards, for the most part, went to the right people and I got to scream at Brittany Murphy and Rue McClanahan one more time during the In Memoriam slideshow. The fashion at the Emmys, however, left a lot to be desired.

The big theme of the night was Greek/Egyptian, with a lot of one shoulders, goddess gowns and geometric necklines, heavy on the jewelry and metallics.

The red carpet was a big snore, except for a few bright spots, such as Anna Paquin in Alexander McQueen and the aforementioned Betty Draper.

From what I’ve been reading, most people hate both of these looks, but that’s the price you pay for bringing high fashion to American TV sets.  There were, admittedly, some horrible missteps and yes I am looking at you Heidi Klum.

Hot tranny mess, working that tired drag for all its worth

The usually flawless supermodel and Emmy nominee (?) opted for a Marchesa mini. Meanwhile, if I never see another Marchesa gown on the red carpet I could die happy. The amazing Lauren Graham also faltered a bit in Yigal Azrouël, riding that damned Grecian theme straight into hell.

Is that bracelet bulletproof?

Lea Michele went overboard with the ruffles in Oscar de la Renta and her boobs always looked as if they were about to jump ship as well.

She should have taken a cue from co-star Dianna Argon who looked beautiful in  Carolina Herrera.

I would have liked the dress to be a little shorter, however, about mid-calf,  to play off a 50s silhouette. But, as the New Directions kids put it, you can’t always get what you want. Then again, at least Lea didn’t follow in the tranny footsteps of her other castmate, Naya Rivera, who apparently thought she was going to a quinceañera.

God bless her for trying.

I can’t wait to hear what Joan Rivers has to say about all this, but until then, what’s your opinion? Who looked stunning and who just looked stunned?

I wasn’t a fan of Anna’s last red carpet look, but I am loving this choice for the SAG Awards. This dress is obviously Alexander McQueen, which is another reason why I love it, AND it looks really great on her, also, the accessory choices are perfect!

Actress Anne Hathaway and True Blood star Anna Paquin were both spotted in very similar Marc Jacob designs. While Anne’s is strapless, Anna’s covers most of her shoulders.

I like the way Anne styled hers, except I’m not the biggest fan of her hair in this outfit. The dress worked really well with her skin tone and figure. I liked how it was a bit shorter on Anne compared to how it fit Anna.

What a mess! How many people did it require to get her to fit into this dress?

2.  Jennifer Aniston in Valentino couture

Jennifer needs to do something different to her hair, and wear something other than black with a slit!

3. Christina Hendricks in Christian Siriano

Way too many shades of red, with the hair, lips and dress…the ruffles add weight to her body and the boobs are so distracting and in your face!

4. Anna Paquin in Stella McCartney

Maybe it’s because I just don’t like her, but this full sequin dress is very overwhelming on her little frame.

5. Kate Winslet in Yves Saint Laurent

An overall boring look, I expected more from her!

6. Mo’Nique in Reem Acra

Not loving the gold, or the way it fit her, seemed really tight on top!

7. Julia Roberts in Yves Saint Laurent

I’m not a fan of short dresses on the red carpet, along with how boring the cut of this dress was, mixed with the overwhelming jewels, the entire look was just badly styled.

8. Courtney Cox in Victoria Beckham

A bit too safe as well, I always expect celebs to go all out when they are nominated for an award…

9. Heidi Klum in Roberto Cavalli

I always look forward to seeing Heidi, this time I’m disappointed, really don’t like the hair, color, or fit of this dress, looks like a last min choice…

10. Marion Cotillard in Christian Dior

Not sure why I don’t like this look, but the peek a boo slip is really bothering me.

“It’s like, I’m sorry, maybe there are a lot of women who keep their bras on while they have sex… I don’t happen to be one of them, I don’t think the naked body is particularly shocking or interesting.”

WWD: What attracted you to this part in the first place? 

Anna Paquin: Well, this whole world is so kind of exciting and unusual as far as the supernatural elements but also has so much in it that’s really emotionally poignant and the characters are so strong and so well drawn out. My character is so tough but she’s sweet and she’s innocent, but she’s kind of worldly. There’s just so much to it that it does not get boring.

WWD: Vampire sex certainly doesn’t get boring. In fact, the show gets quite graphic.

A.P.: You know, there’s some pretty full-on stuff of that variety. And on the whole I think vampire fascination is so intertwined with the whole idea of dangerous sexuality and that sort of scary edge to it.

WWD: What was it like down in Louisiana when you were shooting? 

A.P.: Most recently, hotter than hell. I mean literally 108 degrees. You know it’s gonna be like that. I’ve been to the South in the summertime, but there’s still nothing that really prepares you if you’re not from there from stepping outside and feeling as if you just opened an oven into your face. But it kind of makes all the tiny, teeny, skimpy outfits seem incredibly justified.

WWD: Your waitress costume is quite skimpy.

A.P.: Yes, it is. And I had the most modest waitress outfit of all of them. Lynn Collins — who plays Dawn — I mean, it’s barely even underwear.

WWD: And then there’s the tanning business.

A.P.: I get the spray-painting thing. The first time it’s kind of awkward because you’re standing there naked in front of a stranger who is airbrushing your entire body and it’s not like, you know, you just need to get your arms and legs done. This is not a show where all the clothes stay on all the time, so there can’t be tan lines in places that reveal that you’re the palest girl on the planet.

WWD: Your character is a waitress. And there’s the cliché of the actress going to Hollywood and becoming a waitress until she gets discovered. Obviously you started off on a very different trajectory.

A.P.: I was lucky enough not to have to take that route to being an actress. But at some point it would have been nice maybe to at least have practiced carrying plates around on a tray before walking onto the set because I felt really stupid when everything went flying off.

WWD: But you picked it up quickly?

A.P.: Yeah, you know, I’m not actually stupid. Well, not quite as stupid as I possibly look now that I’m blonde.

WWD: Sookie has mind-reading abilities and you’ve played the mutant Rogue in three X-Men films. What superpower would you choose to have in real life?

A.P.: You know, I’m okay with being pretty normal.
