This amazing Italian came to when Koeun Park, former designer for the Giorgio Armani Black Collection and Donna Karan, decided he had enough with bandwagon fashion. His latest Spring 2009 collection is definitely anything but bandwagon. Choosing to go with straight up fashion pieces rather then a trend saturated collection, Park has made shown how he can mix his past work with Armani and Karan to create a wearable, desirable line.

Yes this sounds bad, but at least it’s for a good cause. Following it’s launch in December of the Emporio Armani (Product) Red bracelet, which bore Roberts’ tree of life design, on Thursday the Emporio Armani online store introduced matching men’s and women’s T-shirts featuring Roberts’ design in three colors: red, black and gray.

“Julia has helped to create beautiful and unique designs for both women and men, which will be a visible reminder of the part that we can all play in fighting AIDS in Africa,” Armani said. This latest (Product) Red offering from Emporio Armani, set to hit stores in September, costs $125 for both men’s and women’s models, with 40 percent of the gross profit margin going to The Global Fund, which finances AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria programs in Africa. In a further gesture of solidarity, the actress requested the Ts be made exclusively in Africa.

The new Harper’s Bazaar features some of the most renowned designers playing out their deepest fantasies, channeling their inner idols, the fun spread is a must-have. Elbaz of Lanvin is working the Hollywood producer. Michael Kors, Karl Lagerfeld, Donna Karan, Donatella Versace, Alessandra Facchinetti, Giorgio Armani, Alber Elbaz, Rodarte’s Laura and Kate Mulleavy and Roberto Cavalli were all asked to get into character as something other than a designer.

The men took to the silver screen for inspiration, while others channeled forces of nature, animals and royalty. Armani played the role of Fred Astaire, Kors took on James Stewart’s L.B. Jeffries character from Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window, Elbaz reinvented himself as a Hollywood producer with James Bond flair and Cavalli went Gone with the Wind as Rhett Butler; he was shot embracing Coca Rocha as Scarlett O’Hara.

• Today in counterfeiting: Canada has awarded Louis Vuitton Malletier $933,989 — the largest such payout in the country’s history — after a four-year legal battle with a group of Vancouver shop owners who sold fake luxury goods. [WWD]

• The iconic September 1994 cover of Harper’s Bazaar — a striking shot of a cat-eyed Nadja Auermann photographed by Patrick Demarchelier — has been “reimagined” for the September W, with Kate Hudson shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot. [Fashionologie]

Solange Knowles is done taking the back seat to Beyonce. Little sis is set to be the “ambassador” for Armani jeans. Translation? Solange will be showing off her modeling skills in the new ad campaign for the famous company. Giorgio’s advocating for Solange all the way to the photo shoot.

“Armani Jeans expresses my vision of a young, independent, casual lifestyle with a strong and cool, fashion sensibility. Solange epitomises this style perfectly and brings to it that swing so evident in her new single, I Decided”

Though she’s following in Beyonce’s footsteps, (Even to Armani), I’m sure she’ll be able to create her own spotlight. Come on Solange, you can do it!

Remember Josh Hartnett? He did a few movies and then disappeared… He’s back in the the new Giorgio Armani Diamonds for Men campaign, shot by legendary Mario Testino. It’s supposed to look like a real paparazzi shot, and Giorgio’s trying to play on the saying, “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend” or “Diamond’s are not only for girl’s.”

Takeshi Kaneshiro Takes Over Armani

Indie actor Takeshi Kaneshiro will be the face of Emporio Armani’s autumn menswear campaign, making it the first time an Asian male will front a campaign for the Italian label. Takeshi is pretty damn HOT, so Beckham’s will not be missed.

Also, Armani, who designed the costumes for Christian Bale’s Bruce Wayne character in the upcoming Batman film, will also outfit the star for a series of campaigns promoting the label’s made-to-measure service. The ads will coincide with the film’s US release on July 15.

I am very happy to know that indie actors are taking over such big name campaigns, and am almost disappointed that Christian Bale is getting soo much free stuff from Armani because of the Batman flick. Doesn’t Armani have enough publicity?
