Sneak Peek: Influence
The Fashion Spot and my new favorite blog, Olsens Anonymous have some sneak peeks at the Olsens’ Influence. I just got mine from Amazon today, but my scanner is in storage! I’m sure better quality images will surface soon.
Olsens + Oprah!
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are slated to chat with Oprah today, on an episode featuring young millionaires. Squeeee! We’ll probably get more sneak peeks into Influence.
Fashion Quotable: Karl Lagerfeld
“…jeans are becoming too tight.”

Moments of Style: Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen hit up London this Tuesday for the Elizabeth & James launch at Selfridges.

Elizabeth & James + Steve Madden
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have teamed up with Steve Madden for an Elizabeth & James shoe line.
Slated to hit stores in mid-2009, the Olsens will serve as creative directors to Madden’s design and sales team.
As a regular fan of MK’s shoe choices, I am quite excited to see what they come up with!

Ashley Breaks the Sister Act
Think nothings stronger than the bond between sisters? Ashley Olsen may beg to differ. Rumor has it the star has downgraded her sister, Mary-Kate, concerning her participation in the launch of the menswear collection for their line, The Row. Ashley wants to be seen in a professional light and feels that Mary-Kate’s “antics” are tearing apart any possibility of that happening. Instead, Ashley wants Mary-Kate to focus on the cheaper Elizabeth and James line. How adorable? At least Ashley didn’t totally kick her kin off the cliff!
MK and A Going Their Separate Ways?
Yesterday the blogs went crazy discussing the possible separation of Mary Kate Olsen and her twin Ashley’s fashion lines. The demise of the wobbly two-some has been predicted for some time now, because after all everybody loves a good breakup even-if it is among family. The dividing line seems to say that Ashley will design Rick Owen’s rip-off The Row, while Mary Kate will work on the funkier Elizabeth and James. Ashley has reportedly banned Mary Kate from The Row designing duites till she gets her personal life in order. Really? If every designer need to have their personal life in order before they worked, we would never get a collection from Marc Jacobs…..
Here’s a breakdown of the two lines

WWD isn’t giving us much to go on, but word on the street has it that Ashley Olsen has started “conceptualizing” a debut men’s collection for The Row.
First Look: Collab-Ho between E & J and Robert Lee Morris

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s jewelry collaboration with Robert Lee Morris for their Elizabeth and James line isn’t supposed to hit stores until September, but Intermix already has a few pieces available for pre-order, $125-$525, including a rad gold dagger necklace. Get it now before they’re sold out.
Thanks Fashionologie for pointing this out.
Designer: AM Eyewear

The fact that a few celebrities and some people who think they’re celebrities think it necessary to wear shades indoors, and at night always strikes me as completely and utterly asinine. But with these sunglasses from AM Eyewear, I may have to make an exception and join the club, for they have transcended the role of functional UV-ray blocker to hella dope fashion accessory. Yes, I said hella. The underground Aussie label produces some of the most innovative and personality-infused frames I’ve seen since the Chloe asymmetrical jump-offs.

Not to be confused with your novelty wayfarer, these sunglasses are made of high quality materials such as Italian acetate (whatever that is, but it sounds expensive) and Japanese stainless steel. Each style also comes in a selection of vibrant colors. Last year, the label became the first ever sunglasses brand to merit their own show during Australian fashion week. Respect. And now for the celebrity endorsement: devotees include Sienna Miller, Ashley Olsen, and Kelly Osbourne, just to name a few.
Style Icons: Ashley Olsen

While recently flipping through a current issue of Star magazine, (which I only look at for the pictures, honestly) I came across this photo of the elusive Ashley Olsen looking sickeningly stylish, further proving my point that she is indeed the better dressed of the fashionable twosome.
Although I can sometimes appreciate Mary-Kate’s avante choices in wardrobe, Ashley always carried an air of quiet cool in the way she effortlessly manages to look polished and comfortable at the same time. Her grounded sense of style is definitely inspiring mainly because she always stands out without trying so hard, unlike her young Hollywood ilk, who despite their best efforts generally look like fashion victims silently begging for praise and approval.
First Look: Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen Book Cover

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have revealed the cover art for their upcoming coffee table book, Influence. The point of the book cover is so you can’t tell which one is which. Not bad ladies…Excited to get our hands on a copy.
Thanks PopCrunch for the pic
Clad in Plaid

Plaid is back! From flannels to chic coats, the pattern is a fall staple. Lately, the trend has been everywhere! Plaid summer bags, skirts and bathing suits are dominating the beaches.
Gossip Girl’s, Ed Westwick has paid homage to his character, by launching his own line, that embraces Chuck Bass’s style. Moreover, Westwick’s collection will be primarily plaid pieces, inspired by Gossip Girl’s private school chic style.
Another designer notorious for his plaid inspiration is Alexander McQueen. No one will ever forget SJP’s quirky tartan gown, courtesy of Mr. McQueen. He has always loved the Scottish inspired print and we are finally catching on.
Plaid embodies 90’s grunge while maintaining a new classic twist. Embrace the trend while it lasts!

New Elizabeth and James Collection!
New to Shopbop, is the Olsen Twins’ (I mean Mary Kate and Ashley, don’t want them to sue me!) clothing line Elizabeth and James. Unlike the Row, E and J is more bohemian with a modern edge. Each piece is named after the musician or movie star that inspired it. Like the Joni tunic for Joni Mitchell or the Garbo jacket for actress Greta Garbo. Here are Fashion Indie’s Top 10 fav’s from their collection:

TrendSpark: Leather Jacket Minimalist
Ashley Olsen was the only celebrity to arrive at the Calvin Klein Resort collection showing (what they couldn’t afford Ester Nash’s fee?). The young designer rocked a minimalist dress and leather jacket that apart would have been okay, but together were pure magic. Not being sarcastic or anything, but I actually like this look.
