1. Protect with SPF 30. Always apply sunscreen to your tattoos, and entire body for that matter, at least 30 minutes before going out into the sun so your skin can absorb it properly. Use at least SPF 30 and reapply to your tattoos every hour. Burt’s Bees Chemical-Free Sunscreen SPF 30 will shield your skin naturally.

2. Explore tattoo-specific sun care. There are companies out there that formulate sun-care products specifically for tattooed skin. Tattoo Goo Color Guard Stick – SPF 30 moisturizes while it protects to keep your ink sharp and vibrant.

3. Protect in the water too. Not all sunscreen is waterproof, so you need to choose wisely if you’re a water baby. 1. Wear sunscreen to protect skin and hair. This is the most important type of sun protection you can get without staying indoors. If you are going to be poolside, at the beach or even spending a day at the park, it’s good to apply these products 30 minutes before exposure to the sun. 2. Use an everyday moisturizer with SPF. Just because you’re not in direct sunlight all day doesn’t mean the sun’s harmful rays aren’t reaching you. 3. Leave-in conditioner will help repair hair. If you’re heading to the pool or beach, things like chlorine, salt and sun can be tough on your mane.
