Crystal Renn is Under the Twilight Sky for Vogue Japan

Edited by

LOOKBOOKS contributor Kenberly Paul slips Under the Twilight Sky with Crystal Renn for Vogue Japan.

Decked in delicately jeweled and lace garments, Crystal Renn (Ford Models) stars in Vogue Japan‘s editorial “Under the Twilight Sky” from the June 2012 issue. Shot by Camilla Akrans, Renn tells a tale of romance and intrigue in looks from designers like Dolce and Gabanna, Hakaan, Balmain and Yves Saint Laurent styled by fashion editor Sissy Vian. Scarlet red lips against a natural face accented with strong brows by MUA Sil Bruinsma (Streeters) along with a retro hairstyle, reminiscent of Betty Paige, by stylist Alain Pichon (Streeters) are the perfect touches to each mystifying look.

Quel Scandale! Paris (Fashion Week) Is Burning

Edited by

I don’t know what it is, but there’s something about Paris Fashion Week that brings out the crazy in everyone. Lest you forget it was around this time last year that John Galliano went swimming in a pool of anti-Semitic haterade, thus plunging the fashion world into a year-long speculative mission regarding his successorChristophe Decarnin had his breakdown and falling out with Balmain and  Kanye West dropped the biggest bomb of his career – and I’m not talking about 808s & Heartbreak. Not to mention a few months ago during the spring 2012 season that whole fashion calendar war was ignited. Aline Weber Rocks Out with Her Couture Out in Vogue Japan

Edited by

Just one look at Aline Weber in “The Girl Who Rocks the Planet” from the latest issue of Vogue Nippon and it’s immediately  evident who styled it. Living Bratz doll Anna Dello Russo has her kooky claw prints all over this editorial, shot by Giampaolo Sgura in arcades and on the streets of Tokyo. The lion heads, the Balmain, the Cavalli, the Versace, the statemenet eyewear and headgear — disco ball motorcycle helmet anyone? — it all speaks to Dello Russo’s fashion-is-fun/more-is-more aesthetic as well as her own personal style. I mean, I’ve feel like I’ve seen the lady herself in a number of these looks, or at least will in the near future. Take a saunter with Aline through the land that Hello Kitty built in “The Girl Who Rocks the Planet.”

25 Top Fashion Moments of 2011

Edited by

‘Twas one hell of a year for fashion, 2011.  Alexander McQueen triumphed this year thanks to a pair of well-documented dresses and a bona fide cultural phenomenon at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Christian Dior tried to rebound from a potential PR nightmare, to varying degrees of success. Diffusion lines easily out-shined their designer homes.  An editrix reinvented herself amidst a sea of rumors without losing a beat.  And underaged fashionistas grew up in front of our very eyes. Here are our picks for the 25 most memorable and stylish moments of 2011.

Edited by

Everyone has been to at least one ugly Christmas sweater party in his or her day.
