Band Of Outsiders: Spring 2010 Collection

I love the vibe that the new Band Of Outsiders collection gives off. The styles give me that laid back Cali feeling, while the colors and cuts are still NYC prep! This collection is perfect for all you NYC prepsters out there.

Band Of Outsiders: Fall 2009 Collection

Well it is no surprise that Band of Outsiders has another amazing collection ready for Fall. I am always impressed with the way they can mix a dark, quiet, and cool personality with a collection of formal looks. I am obsessed with the look shown above. The micro print vest and matching tie looks so good it isn’t even funny. The rest of the collection is no let down either.

RUNWAY RUNDOWN: Boy By Band Of Outsiders Spring ‘09 Ready-To-Wear

Yes, that really is Kirsten Dunst. Boy by Band of Outsider’s Scott Sternberg cast Dunst as the face for his new line, which all features her standard boyish, proper, yet still a bit disheveled. This collection features tons of blazers and structured skirts, as well as a few more relaxed look. Check out the rest of the lookbook in the Cult gallery.

DESIGNER TO KNOW: Tetsuma Ueda

It’s been sometime since the Runway 2.0 event that I attended a couple weeks ago, but the looks that Tetsuma Ueda presented are yet to be lost in the abyss that is my brain. The fresh out of college designer had by far the most impressive collection I saw at the event, and I was determined to meet the young man behind these amazing pieces as I b-lined backstage. Tetsuma has some of the cleanest tailoring I have seen, especially for someone his age. His collection gives a very Thom Browne/Band of Outsiders vibe, that is rather apparent in the fitted and cuffed shorts, as well his use of suspenders and other classic accessories. I don’t know about you, but I could see this stuff flying off the racks at Opening Ceremony! I look forward to seeing more from this amazing young designer!

RUNWAY RUNDOWN: Band of Outsiders RTW Fall 2009

In men’s wear, Scott Sternberg continued to nurture the cult following for his extremely narrow, boyish suits.
Season after season, Band of Outsiders has the sharpest, sexiest menswear that my eyes could ever ask for. Slim-fit pinstripe suits, bright ties worn with preppy crew neck sweaters and tuxedo jackets paired with sneakers put a smile on my face. Take note fellas, this is how men should dress.

Scott Sternberg’s Top Ten Style Tips

For those of you who don’t know who Mr. Sternberg is, he is the brain behind the ever so famous brand Band Of Outsiders. Needless to say the man can dress like no other, and he recently checked in with Men’s Style to provide a few tips. My favorite? why it’s number nine of course.
9. Style fills the gap between how you see yourself and how you want other people to see you. It is not a mysterious quality reserved for Cary Grant or Liberace. You have a sense of it in there somewhere. It’s just a matter of finding a way to express it without seeming like you’re trying.
For the rest of his helpful and comical tips be sure to drop into Men’s Style.
First Look: Band Of Outsiders SS09 Collection

Take a look you fashion hungry predators, because Band Of Outsiders have released some images from their Spring 2009 collection. The new looks follow in the foot steps of what the brand is known for. The collection looks great, but I will say I’m totally over Band Of Outsiders doing this whole polaroid lookbook bullshit. They already used it for their holiday lookbook, and now it’s just getting annoying.
Thanks Selectism.

The world is going video, and Band Of Outsiders is just further proving my point. Their new collection is being shown and previewed via video, and as weird and awkward as it is, it is way cooler than flipping through Flash Site images. The new collection had me thinking that the models might as well have been Ed Westwick and Chase Crawford, because the looks are very Gossip Girl to me.

NY Fashion Week: Band of Outsiders

Double-breasted oversized blazers? Striped pencil-line skirts? Paper bag waisted pants? Seems to me this has all been done before. High five for the curious suspender skirts, but other than that, Band of Outsiders has got poster girl Kirsten Dunst looking like every-other tomboy out there.
Thanks STYLE!
These Models Have Just As Many Facial Expressions As Lindsay Lohan

Opening Ceremony is so lucky to be carrying such an amazing company like Band of Outsiders, because this is one of the coolest displays I have seen in a long time. To recognize the 30 year anniversary of the LEGO man, Scott Sternberg designed these massive LEGO men for the Band of Outsiders display at the Opening Ceremony store in LA. It may be because I was obsessed with LEGOs when I was younger, but I would take of these giant LEGO men before the Fendi Bear Brick

Band Of Outsiders Welcomes Ms.Williams

Scott Sternberg, from Band of Outsiders’, brought his talent to the table as Michelle Williams posed as model. All of the shots took place in Paul Fortune’s house with a laid back approach to elegance. The star didn’t have a make-up artist or even someone to take care of her hair behind the seens. Present? An on-call emergency stylist, Sternberg and Williams herself. Of the shoot and collection Sternberg says “These are clothes you wear on the street…I want to do something closer to where the clothes are, and let people actually touch and feel them as opposed to seeing them on a 14-year-old anorexic model.” Well said!

CFDA Nominees

Thom Browne

Tom Ford
The field of men’s wear designers nominated for the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s Fashion Awards this year is a testament to the fresh blood coursing through the industry’s reinvigorated veins. Of all six nominees, Thom Browne’s label has been around the longest—a mere eight seasons. Tom Ford’s giant profile dwarfs the competition’s, but his business is the newest, having launched just last year. They’re both up for Menswear Designer of the Year against Michael Bastian, who graduated into that senior award category from the emerging-designer group, perhaps by dint of his creative directorship at Bill Blass. Among the nominees for the Swarovski Award for Menswear, Tim Hamilton is the sole returnee. He faces the former fashion editor Patrik Ervell and Band of Outsiders’ Scott Sternberg, a former Hollywood agent and the only West Coaster in the bunch. Here we present a cross section of all these fresh perspectives.
