<p>Meet <strong><a href="http://theheavypets.com/">The Heavy Pets</a></strong>. They&#8217;re a prolific funk-fused jazz-tinged and intellectually driven jam band that tours the country, making fans like me dance like wild to their heavy jams and visual feast of lights. They are staples in the lineups at monstrous festivals like <strong>Bonnaroo</strong>, <strong>Langerado</strong>, <strong>moe.down</strong>, <strong>Gathering of the Vibes</strong>, and my personal fave <strong>All Good. </strong>They’re seen by many hundreds of thousands fans across the United States. They’ve recorded with Grammy winning producers and renowned musicians. They’re talented and musically sexy. The singular drawback I find in them, and in many bands that surround the jam genre, is that they dress like&#8230;well&#8230;boys. The goal is to trim some of the immaturity off of their look, and bring them style-wise into the bold maturing and experimental sound of their music. <strong>Today</strong> I&#8217;m going on a <strong>styling adventure </strong>with <strong>lead singer Jeff Lloyd </strong>to help <strong>The Heavy Pets</strong> to dress like they sound for their <strong>concert</strong> this <strong>Friday, March 18th</strong> at <a href="http://brooklynbowl.com/">The Brooklyn Bowl</a>.</p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-189589" href="http://fashionindie.com/style-adventure-with-the-heavy-pets/high-res/"><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-189589" title="The Heavy Pets" src="http://ficdn.fashionindie.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/high-res-560x372.png" alt="Style Adventure with The Heavy Pets" width="560" height="372" /></a></p>
<p><span id="more-189587"></span>Follow me <a href="http://twitter.com/#!/JessicaLapidos">@JessicaLapidos</a> as I tweet from the fitting room floor. First stop: <strong>Timo Weiland</strong>. From there I&#8217;m taking him on a high-low fashion exploration. Come along to see what I&#8217;m talking about.</p>
<p>In the meantime, enjoy this live performance of &#8220;Drenched&#8221; by <strong>The Heavy Pets</strong>. Their look here shows me they&#8217;re ready.</p>
<p><iframe title="YouTube video player" width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/EYVThn3iuWQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe><br />
Can they evolve to be one of the future <a href="http://fashionindie.com/top-10-best-dressed-man-bands-of-all-time/">Best Dressed Man Bands</a>?</p>
