The first long weekend to commence the summer is upon us, and we couldn’t be more excited to get out of the city and into our new warm-weather clothes. Working in fashion, we know it’s difficult not to be a heavy packer, even when you’re only going away for a few days. So here it is, our picks for three one-bag Memorial Day getaways to the coolest destinations, each within a few short hours of New York City. Speaking recently of Barbara Bui, her Fall 2009 accessories collection is also looking pretty stellar. While her collection exudes a grungy, biker vibe, the majority of her accessories take on a more modern, industrial feel. Shrunken steel platforms and heels put a contemporary spin on the basic pointed toe pumps. As for the studded boots and fringe bags, well, those are a more literal accessory duo for Bui’s Fall feel!

If there’s one reason to be excited for the fall, it’s obviously for wearing leather garments. For those of us who took to the grunge resurgence well, Barbara Bui’s Fall 2009 biker chic, 80′s inspired leather pieces definitely comprise a collection to anticipate. Despite the fact that a surplus of designers took on biker chic for the upcoming season, the way Bui pairs her hardbody leather with sheer silks and furs is rather elegant and distinct.

ADDICT: Barbara Bui S/S 09 Ad Campaign Featuring Sophie Srej

The newest Barbara Bui ad campaign featuring model Sophie Srej has me a little creeped-out. I don’t know if the photos were taken at weird angles or there is a ton of Photoshop work, but the model looks way skewed. Her head looks way too alien-big for her body or something. But whatever, the designs are sick! I need to check out more from this her. This is exactly the type of dress I’ve been seeking out for spring.
