10 Sexiest Attempts at New York & London Fashion Week

Four words have damn near killed all sexiness on the runway: Downton Abbey. Mad Men. Actually, pattern mashing on hip padding with funny furry hats hasn’t helped. A barrage of wildly cool man-repelling looks sauntered down Fall 2012 runways, but sexy was rather difficult to locate. A straight man, who shall remain nameless, and I went through thousands of photos. Through a sea of “Eww”s and “Ugh”s and “I’d fire that designer”s, we found a handful of looks that qualify as sexy. Keep in mind, we mean sexy, not slutty, so all boob-bearing, thigh rising, skin tightening looks were overlooked. We’ll take curves that these designers presented, thank you. And while this Fall’s sexiest looks might not get your panties wet, they may just get your britches in a twist. But no matter how you refer to the fabulous silken garments favored by Vogue contributing editor Andre Leon Talley, one thing is for sure — he looks damn good in them. If you were in Brooklyn Heights today and heard techno beats blaring, it was most likely coming from the Fashion Indie office. With Fashion Week only three days away, we can hardly contain our excitement! Although many of you won’t be able to join us at the tents, you can look forward to the Fashion Indie crew bringing the tents to you! Prepare to mark Fashion Indie as your homepage, because Friday marks a week of extensive Fashion Week coverage. From runway rundowns to event reviews and moments of style to celebrity run-ins, Fashion Indie is brining everything Fall/Winter 2009 to a computer near you! So, How Did Wintour Do?

British soul singer Adele play her part and snagged the Grammy award for best new artist. So, how did Anna Wintour do styling her? Adele walked the red carpet in a custom made Barbara Tfank flared dress and a satin green jacket with tuxedoed Hamish Bowles. Wait…are we sure Wintour styled with Adele in mind or her own personal fashion taste? This looks exactly like something Wintour would wear! Either way, I think the whole look is a bit matronly. The jacket isn’t exactly flattering and the black/green color combo makes me wonder why Adele is on the red carpet and not the Broadway stage of Wicked. Well Wintour, you tried…and failed. Moral of the story: never try.
