There’s A Cute New Sleek Makeup Artist in Town…Casio Exilim Zoom EX-Z300

So it looks like electronics are now invading my territory as a Makeup Artist. At first, I thought it was going to be the air-brush machine but now…a camera. Anybody and everybody can be a photographer with this built in makeup artist. So here’s the skinny on my newest competitor.

Casio Computer Co Ltd has released their new Exilim Zoom EX-Z300 and the EX-Z250, compact digital cameras with a makeup function. This function recognizes faces in a scene to optimize focus and exposure. It makes the skin look flawless in it softens shadows on the face cast by sunlight with the use of an image processing technology. This makeup function will remove your pores and make dehydrated skin look less dull by lightening the skin color of faces in the image. So that means our skin tone will look more youthful with the correct color on our skin while covering mature wrinkles, dark circles and puffiness. Users can shoot pictures while checking the effect of the function on the LCD screen. The intensity of the image processing can be selected from 12 levels. So move over photo shop, the Casio Exilim Zoom EX-Z300 will do it all except for applying eye shadows, lip gloss, and lash extensions.
This camera cost $249.99-$299.99
‘The Hills’ Season 4 Finale

The Girls from “The Hills” walked the red carpet in NYC for the finale of Season 4 on MTV. Lauren Conrad, Whitney Port, Heidi Montag, Audrina Patridge, and Lo Bosworth all arrived looking very pretty and grown up: Lauren’s makeup was classic, Whitney and Lo’s makeup was minimalist, and both Heidi and Audrina pulled off the sexy siren look.

Each girl wore their signature beauty look but my favorite of them all was LC… her makeup was flawless and perfect even for the runway. Lauren Conrad’s personal makeup artist Amy Nadine, who is also the lead makeup artist for Mark Cosmetics, decided to add some color to Lauren makeup palette;

Amy gave Lauren her signature eyes using mark On the Edge’ Hook up liquid liner in black on the top and bottom eye. Next, it looked like she used mark I-Glimmer Creamy Eye Shadow Palette in Bronzed which highlights and brightens the eyes and is long lasting. For those great lashes, she used the mark Scandal-Lash Hook Up Mascara in Black which thickens and gives length. On the lips, it looks like Lauren was wearing Mark Cosmetics top seller lip gloss, Hook Ups. Thisitem is a two part step, the Pro Glimmer first, followed by the Pro Gloss to pump and add shine to the lips. Because Lauren is not big on wearing blush, I am sure that Amy pulled out the mark Bronze Pro Bronzing Powder to give her that healthy glow and then dust the new mark Twinkle belle for a pearlized shimmer on her face.
I think tonight was the best I have ever seen all the girls, can’t wait to see where Whitney Port’s (“The City”) makeup artist takes her look. New York Post’s Page 6 did question whether she is the next Carrie Bradshaw?!?
Shu Uemura Gives Us Bold Colors This Holiday Season
Mika Ninagawa holiday collection burst with bold and vibrant colors. Her makeup collection gives you beautiful bright colors for the eyes, lips and nails this season. Mika is a Japanese photographer and film director. Each limited edition eye shadow palettes are designed with a one of a kind artistry pictures that Mika herself had taken. There are three eye color palettes; Secret Luscious Rose, Adorned Marguerite, and Midnight Winter Sakura (my fave). Each palette includes seven pressed eye shadows and one easy to spread cream liner.
I also like Mika limited edition mini lip gloss. The gloss set colors; Seductive Gerbera which has gold, pink, and wine red. The mini gloss trio set all comes with an exclusive portable cosmetic soft vinyl pouch.
The mini trio limited edition eye pencils color comes in a set of three; deep blue, burgundy brown, and full black.
This collection also has four Shu Umeura brushes that come in a red portable carry kit designed also by Mika Ninagawa. The brushes in this set are; A natural goat brush for the face, a natural pony and squirrel brush for the cheeks, a natural sable and kolinsky brush for eyes, and a natural sable brush for lips.
Watch a behind the scenes video of Photographer Mika Ninagawa at work. This is what I love the most about doing makeup; the energy, the rush, and just working with so many talented people. Its long hours and a lot of work but at the end seeing your work in magazines, stores, makeup counters, and blogs is so worth it.
I Won’t Tell Your Victoria’s Secret!
Last night like so many women and men…yes men, I was anxiously anticipating the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Of course, this being the one time that boyfriends and husbands will sit patiently watching television with their girlfriends and wives. I was so excited because this year Vicky’s Secret title was “Return to Glamour” and Victoria Secret model Adriana Lima hit the runway sporting a $5 million, 1500-carat bra. There was lots of bling actually throughout the entire show, that’s my favorite part.
Makeup Artist Charlotte Tilbury was the lead artist backstage, so she most likely sat in on some of the meetings with Victoria Secret designers to come up with the glamorous look the ladies were wearing. It was very dreamy, lots of champagne and gold shimmery eye shadow colors and eye lashes. The lip colors that Tilbury selected for the ladies were pale pink, soft peach and nude lipstick with lots of pale pink lip gloss. On the face, the foundation was very sheer but heavy bronzer giving the ladies serious cheekbones. For that dewy look you saw on the faces she used lots of shimmer to achieve that glow. As much as I loved this look for the fashion show, this does not mean that this weekend ladies, you get a free pass to rock it when going out. What you have to remember is at awards shows, fashion shows, and concerts the makeup has to be very heavy. Makeup and hair always has to be a little exaggerated to show up on stage. So when you’re in the bathroom getting ready to go out, remember this, the look that Tilbury gave the Victoria Secret models can be toned down and would be great for going to dinner, going dancing and even for a bride who is having a candlelight wedding.
Here’s your Victoria’s Secret for a sexy night out. Do your hair first. I suggest grabbing large sections and curling it with a medium to large size curling iron. Pin each section by using clips, spray your hair with aerosol spray very light with my favorite L’Oreal Elnett Extra Strong Hold UV Hair Spray. For your makeup, start off light using the same shades and adding more makeup until you deposit the amount of eye shadow, pigments, bronzer, lipstick and lip gloss you want. Pour yourself a glass of wine while getting dressed; spray your hair with the perfume you plan to wear and then start taking your hair down. Use your fingers to shake your hair out, give yourself one good flip, and spray to get that soft tossed sexy look. Finish your last sip of wine, check the lips one more time, and then you’re ready.
Let me know ladies, how it goes.
