Everyone knows mascara is a girl’s best friend, so it’s no secret that adding a little length to your eyelashes makes a world of a difference. When it comes to falsies, there are the natural, that may fool some, and the extreme – those beautifully bedazzled and feathers styles that will fool no one. We obviously love outrageous, theatrical beauty here at FashionIndie, so the faker the better when it comes to lashes. Here are some of the craziest, most flamboyant pairs we’ve seen.

- Supermodels Joan Smalls, Daria Werbowy and Raquel Zimmermann discuss their body issues behind the scenes of Vogue‘s “Shape Issue” photoshoot with Mert and Marcus. They were apparently talking about how even they have body insecurities but I couldn’t really hear over the sound of my eyes rolling. [Vogue]

- Reese Witherspoon is giving me some serious bombshell realness on the cover of Elle UK, shot by Ben Hassett. The gams are out, there’s a peep toe pump and I’ve never seen Reese this…hot before. Why is it that British editions of fashion mags get celeb covers right when we’re left with this over here in the states? And of course…this

- Rumor has it Erdem might be H&M‘s latest collaboration. The adorably pint-sized designer, however, claims he’s too busy with his own line, though he won’t rule out the possibility in the future. Rumor also has it that Erdem is designing Kate Middleton‘s wedding dress, but he dodges that one too…so either Erdem Moralioglu is as crafty as he is tiny or someone’s seriously fucking with my emotions. Lonely Spirits

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize that being a model isn’t all fun and games. The magazine covers, the runway shows, the after parties, the gorgeous fashion, the male models, the fame, and if you make it big, the fortune. Seems like a great life, no? Well, thanks to photographer Ben Hasset and Muse Magazine, Muse’s issue #16 has one of the most bone chilling and dynamic editorials the fashion industry has ever seen. Shot in black monochrome, the editorial titled “Lonely Spirits” seeks to extract the loneliness, sadness and stress, baggage that models carry on a daily basis. Due to the processing behind the photos, the details are poignant and the overall photo is difficult to see, but the emotion evoked from this spread is raw and real. Lonely Spirits is aimed to put readers under the impression that models, like Iekeliene Stange and Georgina Stojiljkovic, who both appear in the editorial, are not modeling but are simply caught in an expressed moment of their constant despair. Kudos to Muse and Hasset…it’s about time someone documented the “real” life of a model.
