According to an article in Business Week retail giants like Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdale’s, Dillard’s, and Macy’s as well as a handful of designer brands including Lancôme, Chanel, Guerlain, and Estée Lauder broke antitrust laws and conspired to fix prices on a number of their products. To pay back customers who may have been affected by the alleged scheme, which reportedly spans almost ten years from 1994 to 2003, anyone who purchased products from these stores is entitled to receive one free item in reparation. Ever since New York Times posted that spread all about the reinvention of plaid, I have been hooked on finding great ways to add plaid to my wardrobe that isn’t in the stereotypical shirt form. These cool ties from David Hart & Co. are an awesome way to do that. I through in a couple of his other ties that I thought were cool just for fun, but my real obsession here are the bow ties. I need a bow tie, and my hunger for plaid needs to be satiated, so this tie is like killing two birds with one stone. Potential customers, consider yourself warned, these ties aren’t cheap. The going rate for a long tie is $160-$150 and a bow tie will put a $115 dent in your pocket. They are totally worth it if you have the money though. The end of SATC is nowhere in sight, and even after the movie was bashed by every acclaimed publication, big name companies are still finding ways to incorporate the movie/SJP/designer shoes into their marketing campaigns. Bergdorf Goodman has even cleverly created window displays as a re-make of the wardrobe Big created for Carrie during the movie with the heels (now on a waiting list) presented in the center. Very cleaver indeed.
