Beth Ditto speaks to Style.com about fashion.

Here, Beth talks about her new release called “Music for Men.”

Beth Ditto claims the leggings she has designed for her plus-sized line ‘Evans’ are going to change the lives of plus-sized women.  The waistline is right under the breasts so it’s smooth and not awkwardly ’squeezed out.’  I didn’t say it, I just quoted it.

“This is so serious for me – the shapes for a fat person have to be different. Even the stores for big girls get it wrong. With some of the designs, the people from Evans were sceptical but I was like, ‘Trust me.’ Then the model put it on and they were like, ‘Oh, I get it now.’ ”

Appealing to a crowd that is normally less represented in the fashion forward market, Beth Ditto is ready to release a capsule collection for Evans. The singer created a line of fashions that are much more directed for sizes 8-12 as opposed to the double zero.

We all remember Beth Ditto’s voluptuous nude body on the cover of the debut issue of LOVE magazine. The fashion world has taken Beth under their wing as their token plus-size obsession in an attempt to dispel rumors that they only put 85-pound models on their covers. That’ll get the feminazis off their case. How can anyone say they only promote thin women when they are so enamoured of a porker like her?”

Oh Beth Ditto in the latest issue of Attitude Magazine, tell us how you really feel. Apparently, Beth can’t get ahead without talking smack-crackle-pop about a few people in the process. I know how that feels.

“I hate Katy Perry! She’s offensive to gay culture, I’m so offended. She’s just riding on the backs of our culture, without having to pay any of the dues and not being actually lesbian or anything at all. She’s on the cover of a fucking gay magazine.”

Katy responded by selling another million records and asking who the fuck is Beth Ditto.

Beth Ditto’s rebellion has caught the attention of the fashion world including some designers, such as Karl Lagerfeld and, now, Alexander McQueen- for whom the above photos were created.

Speaking with Black Book, Beth offers some insights.

Do people tell you all the time that you’ve really opened their minds to broader definitions of beauty?

Girls in general have really nice things to say—especially big girls. It’s mostly men who aren’t as open. I think men fear me sometimes. I played in Greece last summer and, I swear, when I went into the crowd, people actually ran away from me. But things like that make me really happy. You make a decision: if you are going to participate in the music industry and put yourself out there, you have to know that it’s all full of shit.

There is a lot of power in the shock of being unashamed. A friend told me that flaunting a big girl body in a punk-rock way is kind of a libertine thrill, like a drug.

It’s kind of like a drug… it’s a performance. It’s funny how something so normal and mundane that you see every day—your body—can be controversial. The shock value is intense. It’s like carrying an art piece around with you all the time.

Are you rubbing people’s noses in their own prejudices?

I don’t really care about other people’s prejudices. I don’t take things super personally, unless it’s someone I really respect. It’s really about making an art piece out of what you’ve been handed. It is about being resourceful. When all you have is an ugly sweater-vest, cut it up and make a really cool skirt out of it! When all you have are these really hateful people, cut them up and make something funny out of them.

You’ve called gay men out in the fashion world for turning women into size 0 paper dolls.

It’s not the fault of gay men. That’s a symptom of the problem… As kids, we’re not allowed to express ourselves, because we’re put in these binary boxes of what our gender is supposed to be.

Beth Ditto has been transformed into a limited-edition doll that will promote her upcoming clothing line for the British plus-sized clothing chain Evans. “Ditto’s curves have been translated into pint-sized proportions,” says Vogue UK in its writeup of the doll. Surprisingly, that is possible!

Crystal Renn strikes a pose, or two, for the current edition of Aussie Harper’s Bazaar shot by Luis Sanchis.  Proud to pose in sexy bustiers, skin tight dresses, and sheer lingerie, Renn takes inspiration from Beth Ditto, showcasing her body (she used to be anorexic and now proudly sports a size 12 figure). Stylist Wayne Gross went for an  80’s-inspired look with luscious red lips and cream-perfect skin.

Only downfall, the shadowing in a few of the shots make her look as though she has cellulite, which is def not the case. Crystal has such great legs, and I’m glad Wayne put her in so many mini dresses…
