Jay-Z & Beyonce’s Baby Arrived!

Edited by

Beyonce checked into Lenox Hill Hospital on NYC’s upper east side late Friday night (they supposedly rented the entire hospital floor for $1.3 Million!) and at 2AM this Sunday morning January 8, she has officially given birth to her and Jay-Z‘s daughter Blue Ivy Carter.  Checked into the hospital under the name Ingrid Jackson, the couple went through large measures to ensure that the labor was a private affair.  They covered up security cameras with tape, took away employees cell phones when entering the floor, and had security guards checking the perimeter.  The color blue is Jay-Z’s favorite and the roman numeral supposedly has a special meaning to Beyonce, hence the name Ivy.  The hip-hop royal has already gotten twitter love from Auntie Rihanna, Uncle Russel Simmons, and one social media savvy vixen who has already jumped the gun on taking over the Blue Ivy Carter  twitter handle, feeding us funny quips and clever RT’s.  Judging by the time at which we are posting this and the list of twitter topics at the moment (Aunty Gaga, Uncle Kanye, Godmother Nicki to name a few) we are sure to see a LOT of the new baby Blue Ivy. Congrats!

Designer Daily: Camilla

Edited by

Camilla Franks‘ label, Camilla is already beloved by Oprah! And Beyoncé! And Gwen Stefani, Lilly Allen, Fergie and Kim Catrall. This bid is hot. Based in Australia, she got her start designing costumes for her local theater. Women loved her caftans so much, she just went on making more of them. She’s a multitalented individual with quite the eye for vibrant prints. Enjoy the bright sights.

Cardinal Compares Gays to Ku Klux Klan, KKK Probably Not Too Happy About It

Edited by

Oh Cardinal Francis George, you narrow-minded man of god, you. A few days ago Cardinal George took to that bastion of journalistic integrity, Fox News, to express his concern over a gay pride parade in Chicago, fearing that those feather-boa-wearing, man-thong-loving queens could “morph into something like the Ku Klux Klan, demonstrating in the streets against Catholicism.”

25 Top Fashion Moments of 2011

Edited by

‘Twas one hell of a year for fashion, 2011.  Alexander McQueen triumphed this year thanks to a pair of well-documented dresses and a bona fide cultural phenomenon at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Christian Dior tried to rebound from a potential PR nightmare, to varying degrees of success. Diffusion lines easily out-shined their designer homes.  An editrix reinvented herself amidst a sea of rumors without losing a beat.  And underaged fashionistas grew up in front of our very eyes. Here are our picks for the 25 most memorable and stylish moments of 2011.

THE DAILY GASP: Ciara for Vogue Paris

Edited by

I’ve always loved rooting for an underdog and since her debut in 2004, Ciara‘s been steadily churning out booty-shaking hits while never quite attaining the level of success of say, a Rihanna, a Beyoncé or even an Ashanti. Luckily, Givenchy‘s brooding creative director Riccardo Tisci is similarly obsessed with Cici and, known for his love of dogs, has annointed her one of his muses. Fashion has fully-embraced the songstress with a stunner of an editorial in Vogue Italia now Ciara returns with this shot from Vogue Paris

Queen Adele and King Kanye Reign Over 54th Annual Grammy Nominations

Edited by

The Grammys are perhaps the biggest joke in the echelon of awards shows — only a step above in relevance from the People’s Choice Awards and battling it out with MTV’s Video Music Awards in terms of red carpet atrocities. Purporting to recognize the best of the year in music, the Grammys more often than not turn into a popularity contest where album sales, or career seniority, determine the winner. There have been many egregious mistakes in the past that do not even merit discussion and next year’s ceremony will doubtfully be any different. The 54th Grammy Awards nominations were announced Wednesday night with Kanye West leading the pack with seven and Adele nipping at his Louis Vuitton heels with six.

Beyoncé is Here in her Finally Revealed Wedding Gown

Edited by

In miraculous fashion, as Beyoncé always is, she has managed to keep any visual evidence of her wedding to Jay Z under complete wraps, until now. Of course at her discretion, she let us (or rather the audience at her Roseland Ballroom concert) in on a glimpse of her wedding dress. She revealed it in a video montage of her life going on while singing I Was HereWatch the song and the fabulous life of Beyoncé, and see a close up shot of her fabulous train after the jump.

Pop in Portraiture: Beyoncé and Gaga Queen It Up

Edited by

While Nicki Minaj went for Baroque in W Magazine, her fellow contemporary pop stars painted the town Renaissance red during MTV’s Europe Music Awards. Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Eminem, Katy Perry and the prepubescent couple of Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber look classier than they could ever hope — although I’m pretty sure Gaga wore a similar gown to go grocery shopping the other week.

Hall of High Heels: Legendary Runway Shoes on Exhibition

Edited by

There’s a new shoe e-tailer that is catwalking into our hearts by bringing couture sky-highs together under one roof. Javari is celebrating their love of shoes and the opening of their site, and we’re celebrating the chance to see bepoke, one of a kind designer shoes up close. That is only if we could travel to London to see it. Hey Brits – let us know how it looks up close. For now, drool with us here over Louboutins, Nicholas Kirkwood, Gareth Pugh, Nina Ricci as they get taller and taller.
