Come October 27th, WSJ Magazine will host its first awards ceremony, honoring their “Innovators of the Year” in fashion, art, food, philanthropy, design, technology and architecture.

Katie Grand will receive the fashion innovator award, presented by friend and frequent collaborator Marc Jacobs. Ai Weiwei is the recipient of the art innovator award, but considering he’s under figurative lock and key in China, Marina Abramovic will accept it on his behalf and Jonathan Safran Foer will present Chipotle founder Steve Ellis with the food innovator award. Elon Musk is the technology innovator, Joris Laarman for design, Bjarke Ingels for architecture while Bill Gates and Warren Buffett will receive the philanthropy innovator award.

The awards ceremony will be held at the Museum of Modern Art on October 27th followed by WSJ‘s “Innovators” issue hitting newsstands on October 29th. [WWD]

Mark Zuckerberg Giving Away Fortune, Soon to be Homeless

Mark Zuckerberg just got a little cooler in my book.

Instead of turning his wealth into gold coins and diving into them for fun, the young billionaire is donating most of his fortune to charity.

Zuckerberg signed on to the Bill Gates and Warren Buffet “Giving Pledge,” agreeing to give away most of his money to charity. “There is a big opportunity for many of us to give back earlier in our lifetime and see the impact of our philanthropic efforts,” said Zuckerberg.

Standing “O” for Zuck. Honestly, that is very cool.

Katie Holmes!? In the H&M Comme des Garcons Line!? Before me!?

There are several things wrong with Katie Holmes flaunting her polka-dot top from the Comme des Garcons H&M collaboration line. First of all, the line doesn’t even hit stores until November 13th and seeing yet another celebrity wearing it around town makes me that much more jealous. Now that people have seen celebrities sport the collaboration line, I bet that by the time I make my way to H&M to check out the line on the 13th, everything will be sold out! And wait a second…doesn’t Katie Holmes make enough money to buy the real Comme des Garcons? That’s almost like Bill Gates going to his local homeless shelter and eating the free split pea soup! Save the collaboration line for us fashion obsessed poor people!
