It’s hard to write about London, girls and empowerment without wanting to break out the Union Jack teatowel dress. But it’s not the 90s, and I’m definitely not Ginger Spice, so last night I exorcised a few teenage demons by popping by the launch party for Girlcore‘s new book and exhibition at the Orange Dot Gallery.

Dazed & Confused continues to blow out the candles on its 20th birthday, revealing the 16 other covers by Dazed co-founder Rankin. Tilda Swinton, Michael Stipe, Kelis, Gael García Bernal, Cillian Murphy, Damien Hirst and Björk are just a handful of celebrities and artists that were moodily-lit and lensed by the mag. Meanwhile, Milla Jovovich reminds us all that before beating up zombies and banging Bruce Willis – same thing really – she was actually a model. And by the looks of her Dazed cover, a damn good one. 

Björk’s Next Album… The New Angry Birds?

Björk, whose relevance in our world is more for dressing like a bird than for her music, is putting out a new album in a bizarre new fashion. Her forthcoming album, Biophilia, is to be released as an “app album.” She’s actually writing the songs in tandem with the production of the app for an interactive platform between song and listener. Which begs the question, will there be a round of Angry Björks?
