GQ, V, and Interview’s September Issues All Feature 3-D Armani Exchange Ads

GQ, V, and Interview’s September Issues All Feature 3 D Armani Exchange Ads
The ad, in regular old 2-D.

This week, Marc Ecko's Cut & Sew line unveiled an ad campaign starring a 3-D Lindsay Lohan hologram, and in July, Time Out New York joined Dazed and Confused on the growing list of mags embracing multidimensional editorial and advertising. Now Armani Exchange is getting in on the action, launching a 3-D ad campaign for the September issues of GQ, Interview, and V. “A survey we did showed that half our customers had an iPhone or a BlackBerry two years ago,” said Tom Jarrold, who seems to believe that somehow means they'd also appreciate a 3-D ad. But wait — there's more! The 3-D glasses that accompany the Matthew Scrivens–shot print ads will also enhance a futuristic, corresponding web video about a motorcycle rider. Okay, whatever, 3-D or not, it stars Arthur Sales as a biker and Tamiris Souza Freitas as his lusty interest, and it ends with them making out while they undress. How could it not be awesome? WWD

Golf Attire: The Fashion Behind a Gentleman’s Sport

Edited by

I recently found my way back to the game of golf after a year long hiatus.  Well, actually I never quite made it to the game because I was just taking lessons and practicing at driving ranges, but still…I was pursuing the sport last year and then let it go due to the ridiculously hot temps we had here in Texas in 2009.

This summer I decided to jump back in head first because I have a couple of friends that started playing again and it inspired to get out there and play.  So when I went into the darkest corner of my closet to grab my fab golf clothes that I accumulated last year I realized that I had a problem.  None of my practically new golf skirts and tops fit me anymore!  After losing 30 lbs last year thanks to the support of Out of Control Fatroll, I have had to donate, sell, or give away probably 70% of my closet…and now this includes my golf attire.  I even had a black and white houndstooth skirt that still had the tags on it!!!  I’m seriously frowning as I write this.

Anyway, yay for losing weight!  Boo for having to buy new stuff when you really can’t afford it.  So I sucked it up and ventured out to Dick’s Sporting Goods (love that place!) out in Bee Caves.  I am very proud to say that I walked out of the store with 3 new golf skirts and a Nike golf shirt for a grand total of $75!  Now some of you may be thinking “that’s still a nice chunk of change for something you’re going to go out and sweat in”, but for anyone that has ever purchased golf attire this was an amazing deal.  Look at it this way, selling a product associated with the sport of golf has the same conotation as attaching the words “bridal” or “wedding” to anything…it automatically makes it more expensive.  It’s frustrating but true.

Excitement over these newest additions to my closet has led me to a) share pics with you and b) search the net and find other pieces to lust after and show you.  Oh, and I wanted to share with all of you my favorite pair of shoes in my entire closet…my Nike golf shoes.  I swear I ran all over my office showing them to anyone who would give me the time of day when they arrived in the mail.  I. HEART. THEM. SO.

Skirt #3: This navy number looks great with the red polo above to create a patriotic look on the golf course

Without further adieu, my beloved Nike golf shoes!

Do you golf?  If so, send me pics of your favorite outfit.  There are so many fun ensembles when it comes to this sport.  I mean, where else will you see a guy walking around in multi-colored plaid pants and a pageboy cap…and getting respect for it?!

Taboo's Deltah TM 3008 Launch in Midtown

Taboo's Deltah TM 3008 Launch in MidtownTaboo's Deltah TM 3008 Launch in Midtown

Fresh off a performance at Good Morning America, rapper Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas made an appearance at the Foot Action store of Midtown Manhattan. The occasion was the launch of his new sneaker line, Taboo Deltah TM 3008.
Anyone who thinks of sneakers as simple athletic footwear has not seen its possibilities. The Taboo collection brings together urban glam and real functionality. Even better? The price point is a very accessible $65 – $85.
Ms. FAB had a chance to ask Taboo a few questions as he showed off the new goods… When asked if he personally “wear-tested” his own product, he responded with an enthusiastic “Of course!”
As someone who has seen many celebrity fashion projects, I was a little skeptical. I asked which style was his personal favorite. He immediately answered (and demonstrated) the black shiny high-tops were his preferred shoes onstage. He then showed off the red shoes that he wears for playing basketball. Ladies and gentlemen, I stand corrected. I don’t think you could have a better test of a shoe’s durability then having them pounded night after night on a concert tour. If you have ever seen a Black Eyed Peas concert, you know that’s quite a workout.
I was particularly impressed Taboo’s way with the crowd. Before the long line of fans were allowed into the store, he insisted on meeting the store staff. Most celebs would take the obligatory photo and that would be the end. Instead, he personally made contact with everyone around him, giving hugs, thanking them. Those who were shy, Taboo would reach out and drawn them forward. He was the same with his fans, giving each individual attention and appreciation.
The shoes themselves were not for the wallflower. Each had a signature Velcro strap across the top. A shiny embossed plate adorned some of the high tops. The materials were a mix of shiny patent-leather like fabrics with athletic mesh or matte PVC.

Real Style: Vibe Luster’s Smooth Touch Party for Letoya Luckett

Real Style: Vibe Luster’s Smooth Touch Party for Letoya Luckett

Going to parties after my day job makes me realize that I’m getting old…lol. But I dusted my dentures off, oiled my joints, and saddled on down to Manhattan last night to attend the Vibe Luster’s Smooth Touch Party in celebration of singer Letoya Luckett’s debut as their hot new spokesmodel. How cool is that?

Real Style: Vibe Luster’s Smooth Touch Party for Letoya Luckett

Luster Products Inc, a black-owned and operated hair company that has been in business for over 50 years, launched the Smooth Touch line of products geared to meet the needs of younger, style conscious women who want healthy, head-turning styles (sounds like us!) and tapped Ms. Luckett as the brand’s face.

The line includes products formulated for relaxed and natural hair and include:

Smooth Touch Go Glitz Olive Oil Sheen Spray
Smooth Touch Hydration Vibe Olive Oil Hair Lotion
Smooth Touch A Reason to Gloss Shine Polish

and for those who relax, Smooth Touch New Growth Relaxer Kit with Triple Strength Olive Oil Conditioner

Find out more about the products here.

So after checking-in I electric slided into the main room and caught a glimpse of both Letoya Luckett and actress Keshia Knight Pulliam looking head to toe GORGEOUS!

Let’s just say photography isn’t in the cards for me…lol.

Both ladies were super sweet. Letoya is very humbled and excited to be the face of Luster’s. Her pic is on the relaxer box Real Style: Vibe Luster’s Smooth Touch Party for Letoya Luckett

And I also decided to channel my inner-Claire and snap some Real Style pics. Now, I’m not as smooth as Claire is with this so I missed a few names. If you’re pictured and you’re reading please let me know who you are…lol.

I loved this girl’s pretty-in-pink one-shoulder dress and how she contrasted it with the black belt and shoes. Her name is Jewel Danielle and she has an accessories line coming out so I’ll have more info on that soon.

This fly guy is Aldin Morgan and he’s on Jewel Danielle’s accessories line team. I love his fitted jacket paired with jeans and accessorized with those fly shoes, newsboy cap, and Louis Vuitton messenger bag.

Next up, this foxy lady’s jumpsuit and straw hat were too cute to pass up. I love her arm candy, too.

This cutie’s classic navy blue wrap dress caught my eye. Love how she paired it with the tan belt and shoes. Cute smile to match.

I fell in love with this statuesque beauty’s chic white shorts, jacket, and lovely pearl bracelet.

And last but not least these two gentleman came through in some sharp jackets paired with jeans looking too smooth.

Well that wraps up the event!

How did I do on my first go of capturing Real Style? (BTW, nobody has on yellow contacts–that’s the flash…lol)

Will you be checking out the Smooth Touch products?

Weekend Hot! or Hmm…: Amber Rose, Eva Longoria Parker, Adrienne Bailon and more!

Edited by

Happy Monday Fashion Bombers!

I know most of us are dreading the face that we have to return to work today, especially after a weekend of partying.  But we have something to take the edge off.  A few of our favorite celebs were out and about this weekend.  Some looked hot while some didn’t even hit the lukewarm mark.  Let’s take a look see!

First up is Adrienne Bailon, who was spotted at the Ace of Spades Loft.

Weekend Hot! or Hmm…: Amber Rose, Eva Longoria Parker, Adrienne Bailon and more! And this mamacita is looking hot!  Rocking this black cut-out dress with a super-embellished waistline, she knew the right thing to do was to downplay the makeup and keep it fresh-faced.  Sky-high black pumps and tousled hair complete her look.

Funny gal Aisha Tyler made her way to the Syfy and Entertainment Weekly party at Comic-Con 2010 this weekend.

Weekend Hot! or Hmm…: Amber Rose, Eva Longoria Parker, Adrienne Bailon and more! While she may not be a red carpet regular, the comedienne pulled off her LBD quite well.  Though I’m a little over the obi-belt trend, it actually works here.  Good look, Aisha!

Swizz Beatz attended Russell Simmons’ 11th annual Art for Life Benefit…

Weekend Hot! or Hmm…: Amber Rose, Eva Longoria Parker, Adrienne Bailon and more!…and I have to say if there’s any way to wear a white suit casually, then this is how it should be worn.  A basic white tee with a handsomely tailored white suit goes a long way.  And while I’m not the biggest fan of white loafers – not in the least- Swizzy rocked ‘em.

John Legend and girlfriend, Chrissy Teigen also came through to show their love for the benefit.

Weekend Hot! or Hmm…: Amber Rose, Eva Longoria Parker, Adrienne Bailon and more!John wore a decent white blazer, white button down and gray pinstripe trousers with white brogues to complete his look.  Pretty dapper is you ask me.  Chrissy went the boho-chic route and opted for an off-the-shoulder maxi dress.  The dress is cute, but hmm… shouldn’t she be slightly worried about a possible “wardrobe malfunction”?  I guess John will make sure it doesn’t happen.

Eva Longoria-Parker struck a pose at the 12th Annual HollyRod Foundation Deign Care Event.

Weekend Hot! or Hmm…: Amber Rose, Eva Longoria Parker, Adrienne Bailon and more! She looks as radiant as ever in this metallic sequined sheath dress.  Eva chose some very subtle bling by opting for a small silver watch and a pair of unassuming diamond earrings.  Classy and oh so chic!

Amber Rose made her way to the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge…

Weekend Hot! or Hmm…: Amber Rose, Eva Longoria Parker, Adrienne Bailon and more!…looking painfully pink.  Her dress is cute, and I love the peplum effect going on.  But hmm… a dress in that color with so many patterns doesn’t require a lot of anything else.  Neon pink lips and nails just put her in pink overload, and not in a good way.  And I probably would’ve opted for a soft pink pair of peep-toe Louboutin’s over these Versace sandals.  I’m just sayin’.

And last, but not least, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith have been traveling the globe to show loads of love and support to Jaden’s blockbuster flick, The Karate Kid.  This time…in France at the Paris premiere.

Weekend Hot! or Hmm…: Amber Rose, Eva Longoria Parker, Adrienne Bailon and more! And this is a couple that always shuts it down on a red carpet.  Will looks so statuesque in his black suit and black and white striped button down.  Although he’s wearing a polka-dot necktie, it isn’t the least bit distracting.  It just adds more excitement to the ensemble.  Jada opted for an LBD this go around, but it hugs her curves so well.  And she’s also hopped on the Christian Louboutin Clou Noeud Spiked Sandal bandwagon, but we’re not complaining.

Who rocked it this weekend for you?

~Vuitton
