FashioninDIY: How To Make Your Gloves Work on a Touch Screen

Edited by

It’s a problem that has been plaguing humankind for centuries: mid-winter, outdoor, touch screen texting. Pretty soon, exposing even a little finger will be unbearable! Take matters into your own hands and end the suffering. Turn any pair of gloves into static-electricity-conducing machines with these simple steps. And stay toasty whilst tinkering with your iPhone/iPad/Droid/Blackberry/…

Anatomy of a Handbag: NYFW Spring 2012

Edited by

Now that the swarms of photogs, editors, bloggers, stylists and what-have-yous have descended on Milan Fashion Week, we here at FashionIndie can finally take some time out to reflect on the hectic week that was New York Fashion Week by rifling through our still bursting bags. Nothing tells the details of debauchery like the contents of a lady’s purse.

Oprah’s Favorite Things Cost About $23.8 Million: Or, What Happens When Everyone Gets a Prius

Edited by

According to Jezebel, who bravely and and altruistically estimated each year’s value of Oprah’s Favorite Things (OFT) — that bygone seasonal orgasm of mass consumerism and mass hysteria — Oprah dropped about $23.8 million on making her studio audience cream their relaxed fit khakis since 2002. But in Oprah money, that’s equivalent to a trip to the grocery store and a mani-pedi with Gayle.

Accessory Alert: My, My Telephone

Edited by

Hello? From the second I picked up the Pop Phone one week ago, my ear has not touched my iPhone Blackberry. Speaking into yesteryear’s telephone receiver on the street, in a restaurant, at a wake, is a wholly over-satisfying experience. It warrants passerby reactions anywhere from smiles of amusement, nudges to a friend, giddy laughter and “Damn, that’s so gangsta!” (I got that on two different occasions, no lie). And everyone will ask you where you got it.*

RANDOM: InPulse Blackberry Smartwatch

Before I even get into this, I want to inform you that I am only posting this due to prior “conversations” with the illustrious Daniel Saynt and a certain feisty Saks accessories buyer friend. It was a few weeks ago in LA when Mr. Saynt hastily brought up the idea of watches being a failing technology over a (disproportionately) shared bottle of vodka. As lines where drawn in the virus infested hotel carpet, Daniel took the side of watches turning into wrist equipped smart watches (ie image above) and our Mighty Mouse-esque Saks companion, Daniel’s loving wife Rebecca, and myself defended our classic “tick and tock” type watches.

While Daniel may be right that the watch is evolving, I stand my ground with my opinions. This watch is rediculous and doesn’t look very cool either. So shall we hold a vote? This Blackberry watch or a Cartier? You tell me, I’m with the old school!

POLYVOYEUR: Elisabeth30

POLYVOYEUR: Elisabeth30Those shoes are so cute! Chanel glasses? yes. On the Road is one of my favorite books, and although I think it’s a little strange that it’s an accessory to the outfit (along with the Blackberry, iPod, and Nikon), it works for this look (which I think is supposed to be some sort of school thing). Nice.
