SNEAK: Diddy in BlackBook

The October issue of Blackbook won’t be on newsstands until next week, but here’s a sneak of the photo shoot.
SPREAD UM: “Milan’s Tattooed Love Boys” BlackBook September 2009
Oh, Cole and Ash, you’ve done the fashion industry wonders by making your skinny, tattooed selves so appealing. Bring on the ink!

Thanks BlackBook!
SPREAD UM: Evan Rachel Wood for BlackBook August ‘09
As a huge fan of Evan’s red hair these black and white photos are mildly disappointing, but I will admit I am just as excited for her appearance on TrueBlood as BlackBook is with their “Hot vamp, I love you so!” by line.

MAG HAG: tar Spring 2009

The Spring 2009 cover of tar magazine features the above graphic of Kate Moss. Created by Damien Hirst, the image exposes half of Kate’s face – instead of distorting a model’s face by airbrushing a photograph, Hirst peeks into the true, and not always pretty, side of human anatomy.
The biannual arts magazine (co-founded by BlackBook founder Evanly Schindler and Maurizio Marchiori of Diesel) releases its second issue April 15
(Note: Hirst’s version of Kate is based on her March 2005 cover of W Magazine.)
SPREAD UM: Cole Mohr For BlackBook April 2009

Cole Mohr was featured in a spread for BlackBook’s April issue. Pretty cool shoot. Like the new haircut!

SPREAD UM: Amy Adams for BlackBook, March 2009

Amy Adams covers the March 2009 issue of BlackBook.
I think this is a great shoot: she’s made-up and styled, but still looks like herself — and actually a little like Nicole Kidman on the cover.

Vincent Gallo is an Asshole, but You Already Knew That
I’m not sure why Vincent Gallo is invited to Fashion Week every year, probably to create easy content for bloggers like myself and the good people at Blackbook. Blackbook’s videographer Liz Glover had a run-in with Gallo about the authenticity of his leather jacket.
Here’s what happened:
So yes, our videographer Liz Glover has a certain history with Vincent Gallo. And though things began civilly enough, things degenerated when — all in good fun! — Liz made a crack about Gallo’s leather jacket, asking if it was in fact pleather. Let the record reflect we are in no way insinuating that Vincent Gallo would wear a pleather jacket! Quite the opposite in fact. Nevertheless, the jibe inspired Gallo’s ire: “If you print that [Ed. note: 'print'?], I will track you down and make you wish you had never been born.”
