It’s obvious that they were not filming at this time, as Leighton Meester’s character, Blair, wouldn’t be caught dead in Uggs. Nor would Chuck walk down the street with her if she was wearing them. But Blake Lively, or should I say Serena, seems to be in character at all times!
NEWSFLASH: Chuck And Blair Are Staying Together!
I’m so happy to have found out that my favorite couple in the entire world will remain together for the new season of Gossip Girl. The show’s executive producer, Stephanie Savage, told PEOPLE:
“Chuck and Blair in a relationship is going to be something very unique and something we haven’t seen before. They have definitely found ways to not be boring.”

VIDEO: Cobra Starship @ Diesel U:Music Concert
The stars of last night’s (again that is assuming you are reading this on Friday, despite it being posted at 4am) Cobra Starship put on quite the show. Gabe Sporta was his usual energetic self moving all across the stage, and while the clip above doesn’t feature the expected “special guest” Leighton Meester, their synth player Victoria takes over just fine. Check out the clip of them performing “Good Girls Go Bad” off their upcoming album Hot Mess, which will hit shelves August 11!
FIRST LOOK: Jennifer Behr Fall ‘09
If Jennifer Behr makes good enough headbands for Blair Waldorf, she makes good enough headbands for us. This fall her collection lacks color, but not style. The victorian goth vibe is strong with grey pearls, patent leather, chains and plenty of studs. We wonder if Blair will go the route of Little J and turn a little bit punk while wearing these headbands…

Rest Easy Gossip Girl Fans, ‘Cum Laude’ Is Upon Us
I learned from Buzznet
that Gossip Girl (the books, not the show) author Cecily von Ziegesar is planning to unleash a new series, Cum Laude, which follows Blair Waldorf to college. However, in the books Blair attends college in the fictional town of Home, Maine, and meets a new slew of friends to torment. Fingers crossed that this books series will continue our favorite, best styled show on the CW. The first two books of the series are due out this fall, just in time for network debuts. Let me know if you hear anything!

Like, I get them. I still think they look like the jeans I wear to garden in, and that — at best — they’re really too casual for anything other than daytime running around town, but I GET IT. We’re all wearing our fat jeans out and about right now and that’s okay. It’s temporary. In fact, my theory is that this is a natural next step from how we all started wearing big floaty tops and dresses a few years ago and haven’t entirely stopped: it’s because we all realized that wearing something that didn’t require sucking in our stomachs constantly was DELIGHTFUL. I guarantee, in fact, that I am going to get a pair very much like these at some point — because I am sadly prone to following jeans trends, with the exception of the high-waisted, because I am not totally out of my mind — and that there will then be a point where I am wearing them and I catch sight of myself in a mirror out at the market or whatever and I think to myself, “JESUS CHRIST THESE JEANS ADD TEN POUNDS TO ME WHAT AM I DOING?” but then I’ll be out and about and stuck in them for at least the next hour and then we’ll all be filled with pants-related-regret. I’ll let you know when that happens. But this is not about her jeans, contrary to what you might have anticipated after reading all that. It is not about her matchy-matchy black-and-white color scheme. It is about her freaking headband. It looks like a spitball on her head. Stop the headband madness, girls. None of us are Blair Waldorf.

TRENDSPARK: Bikergirl
Two worlds collide as this trend sweeps the city. Girly girls are showing their edges with leather jackets, thick chains, and motorcycle boots. I hate to make a Gossip Girl reference, but think Blair Waldorf meets Taylor Momsen (no, not Jenny Humphrey, Taylor Momsen, the not-trying-as-hard-to-be-edgy-version). I love this look, but would be interested to see edgy girls trying to be more girly…would that have the same effect?

IM OVER IT: Gossip Girls And Boys Making Shitty Music
We’ll start at the root of the problem, Ed Westwick. Ed has a band called The Filthy Youth that he has put on hold to finish up with Gossip Girl. If you’re putting your so called “punk” band on hold to shoot a show called Gossip Girl, you shouldn’t be in a punk band. Not to mention the band really isn’t good. Don’t believe me? Next up Taylor Momsen. Trying to follow suit with Ed Westwick, she started a grunge inspired band called The Reckless that also isn’t good. Her bandmates suck, she’s awkward on stage, and there is a reason she got cut from being Hannah Montana back in the day, because she can’t really sing. I’ve listened to her songs over and over, and she sings in a monotoned voice. The point of grunge music is to scream and squeel, and while she tries she doesn’t succeed. If she really wants to start a band maybe something the in light of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs would be a bit more appropriate. Taylor has the look, she just needs the material to back it up.
And finally there’s Leighton Meester. Much to my suprise, B can sing (but then again so can anyone with auto tune)! Never the less, Leighton has by far the superior voice to the prior two, but again I don’t know where her intentions are with music. She chose to do her major debut doing guest vocals for the hipster dance wannabe’s Cobra Starship, but I’m interested in seeing where her career takes her. She belongs in pop music for sure.
For all these aspiring rock stars, maybe their music should remain a hobby. They will forever be cast in the shadow of their Gossip Girl Upper East Sider shadows. Not to mention, I thought that Jennifer Love Hewitt proved to world that sitcom stars can’t become triple threats (not since Jared Leto I guess, but look at him now!).

Leighton Meester gets my vote for the biggest risk-taker…something about it is so sexy, the matching dress and leggings, with the tie shoes and no jewelry, I love it, def not something Blair Waldorf would rock!

Leighton wore a high collared gown had ruffled details on the shoulders, and 3/4 of the skirt, with a charming brooch completing the look.
Black wore a strapless dove grey gown, was adorned with feathers around the bodice, which cascaded down one side of her multi-layered chiffon skirt.

The show may not be getting all the viewers they want, but their ad campaign have been great. The latest features the shows stars with different words fake graffitied over their faces. I love it! But where is Chuck Bass? Or my personal favorite Taylor Momsen? I would say where’s Vanessa, but who really cares?

I’m Over It: Gossip Girl
Yes you read that right, I’m over it. I have loved this show since is began, and I will continue to watch it as long as it airs, but it has become an hour of frustration and annoyance rather than entertainment. Say what you will, but this season has been very boring and monotonous. Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t the whole show about the gossip and drama around the school and between a social clique? There hasn’t been an episode in a long time where they post something on Gossip Girl in order to back stab someone. This last episode was really the icing on the cake that secured my disgust with the show so far. The opening scene random crap? Blair Waldorf a jealous socialite with tons of money who dresses like a mom for an entire episode? Fighting over a school they probably wouldn’t be able to get into due to the fact they never go to school in the first place. The fighting between Serena and Blair has just become annoying rather than a focus of conflict. The only thing worth watching anymore is the drama between the guys, not only is it entertaining, it is realistic (to a point). The whole show has just blatantly sucked, and has taken a focus on fashion (that hasn’t been that great either) and nothing else. Finally, when I thought I had gotten through the whole episode and I began to rejoice, the preview for next week came on. The next episode is so out of left field and has no connection to anything that has happened it’s ridiculous. In case you can’t tell I am a bit annoyed with the show, and I could honestly go on for days with things that have just been awful about the show. What do you think about this season indies? Anything about the show that annoys you? Lets hear it.

The Bashed: J-Crew Ad
The new J-Crew ads are supposed to be some what reminiscent of every one’s favorite show, Gossip Girl. Uh What? Lets assume that the girl is supposed to be Serena, besides never being seen in J-Crew, she would be decked out in a flashier dress. That Baby Ruth looking piece of shit is not fitting of a Van der Woodsen. I hope that guy in the middle isn’t supposed to be Chuck Bass, mostly because he never wears jeans, and that mix and mash display of dressy and farm boy looks awful. Last but not least, that ugly screen print dress is not fitting of the one and only Blair Waldorf, she would probably slap that poor girl’s eyes round for even trying to look like her. Sorry J-Crew not even you can hack it in the Upper East Side, go back to strip malls in Pennsylvania where you belong.
What Can’t Leighton Meester Do?
From Gossip Girl, to Entourage and now an album? Be careful B, talks of an album hit me as a mistake at first, then I heard her sing. Leighton is pretty gosh darn talented if you ask me. Obviously she is no Amy Winehouse (minus the drug abuse), but she can sing a decent note or two. Could this on camera rivalry with Ed Westwick finally start to become a reality? On Gossip Girl Blair is always trying to one up Chuck, and with Ed Westwick frontmanning his band The Filthy Youth, could this be Leighton’s off camera punch in gut? Ride Off The Runway With Cynthia Rowley
If anyone saw the premier of Gossip Girls on Monday night, they might have caught a glimpse of Blair Waldorf’s bike. Well, that very familiar bike is actually straight off the runway of Cynthia Rowley.
The limited-edition, Cynthia Rowley beach cruiser is customized with a CR-designed floral print in light blue and yellow. The bikes, in mint, baby blue, ivory, camel, light pink, and navy, were ridden down the runway as the fashion show finale.
