Bliss Lau
DESIGNER TO KNOW: A(r)mor Jewelry
Having recently posted some pieces from Bliss Lau’s recent jewelry line, there’s no doubt that I’m a huge fan of the body chain jewelry, as seen plastered all over Cole Mohr, Ash Stymest and Luke Worrall in the Vogue Italia February 2009 issue. After doing my daily snoop on Nitrolicious, I noticed that Wendy was rocking out some similar pieces by indie designer, A(r)mor.
Essentially, A(r)mor creates structural body chains, just like Bliss Lau, but at a fraction of the price. While many of Lau’s pieces push the $600+ mark, A(r)mor is just as cool and basically under $200. Loving the Miko piece and how it is a dual necklace and body chain!

Bliss Lau: Fall 2008 Jewelry Collection
Ever since I saw “So Young, So Cool,” Steven Meisel’s February 2009 spread for Vogue Italia, I’ve been absolutely obsessed with the unisex body-jewelry of Bliss Lau, featured in the editorial. Possibly a bit simpler than previous collections, Lau’s jewelry line consists of antiqued chains, hooks, gromets and minimal pieces of leather. What I really love about her recent pieces is that they can be worn year-round (despite the fact that they are from the fall 2008 collection) and are designed to fall where skin is typically bare during the warmer months. Even a simple tank-top or body-con dress can be livened up with Lau’s jewelry. Hoping for some new designs in the near future!

Runway Rundown: Form Spring/Summer 2009
Form has been on my top three favorite shows this Fashion Week since I saw it last week. The show as a whole was perfection. The long, draping, flowing line looked great in the breeze that was delicately flowing across the Skylounge on the West Side Friday afternoon. Most of the looks featured chain jewelry by Bliss Lau that was worn across the shoulders and chests of the models. These little details helped to hold the shape of the top of the garment, while the bottom was left to flow in the wind. The line featured at least a dozen different fabrics, each one perfect for the season it is meant for. Form hit the nail on the head this season, and I can’t wait to watch this elegant line take off.
