Brad Pitt to Smell Like a Parisian Lady as New Face of Chanel No. 5

In a surprise marketing maneuver, the male half of Brangelina is rumored to be the new face of the world’s most iconic perfume. That’s right, Brad Pitt is shilling Chanel No. 5.

According to E! Online, the actor and father of (how many are they up to now?) is in London filming the first ad which will be released overseas later this year. And for his troubles he’ll be taking home a nice little paycheck in the seven figure range — just enough to keep that ever-expanding brood dripping in juice boxes for years to come.

Neither Pitt nor Chanel would comment on the veracity of the rumor, but if it’s true, he would be the first man in No. 5′s 91-year history to front the brand. It’s unclear, however, if Mr. Jolie-Pitt will be hocking the original scent or a new men’s version. [Telegraph via E! Online]

- Jacob & Co., the jeweler famously name-checked in practically every rap song from the early-00s, has apparently knocked off Brangelina‘s engagement ring, though they claim to have already had a similar style in their bling repertoire. [Fashionista]

- Who else but Ralph Lauren would design the US Olympic and Paralympic teams’ opening and closing ceremony looks? The US Olympic Committee revealed the quintessentially American designer’s vision for the latter yesterday and naturally the only thing missing is a gold medal or two. [WWD, sub req'd]

- Since Nicki Minaj is hellbent on sucking these days, I’m openly pinning my raptress hopes on Azealia Banks who recently signed with Troy Carter, the manager behind her Monstrosity, Lady Gaga. The bad bitch’s album Broke with Expensive Taste drops in September. [THR]

- Max Azria is being sued for $220 million over some Playboy condoms that sadly never came to fruition in Walmart stores. As if that weren’t enough to warrant a comedic spit-take, the reason behind the condom collapse was allegedly the high level of lead in Walmart’s BCBG clothes. [TMZ]

UPDATE: A spokesperson for Azria states the quotes in the cited TMZ story have been “completely taken out of context, and the allegation regarding lead in BCBG clothing sold at Wal-Mart is completely inaccurate.”

- Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt of legendary celebrity couple Brangelina are reportedly engaged, since Angie has been spotted sporting one hell of a rock on her ladyfinger that Brad allegedly designed. Since they’ve repeatedly said they wouldn’t get married till everyone — gay and straight — had the right to, here’s hoping Fran Drescher performs the duties for these two queens. [Fashionista]

- Families are spending between $1000 to $2000 on prom this year, which is a lot of money to look like a cheap slut and get knocked up in the back of a Chevy Camaro. [USA Today]

“The Artist,” “The Descendants,” Meryl and George Win Big at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards

Hollywood’s wildest night was a bit on the tame side as the 2012 Golden Globes lapsed into occasional coma. Host Ricky Gervais was more well-behaved and seemingly less drunk this year than last — a bad decision on both counts — though there was some well-played shtick regarding Jodie Foster‘s Beaver. The stars, however, came prepared with their own jokes with the best comeback of the night courtesy of Best Original Song winner, Madonna. After being introduced by Gervais, Madge quipped: “If I’m just like a virgin, Ricky why don’t you come over here and do something it? I haven’t kissed a girl in quite a few years…” A collective snap arose from the Beverly Hilton after the Material Girl dropped that sass bomb, though to be fair, she’s been on a roll as of late. The rest of the night was a series of mild shock — mostly thanks to Angelina Jolie‘s ~~inspiring~~ scary skeletal frame — and even milder surprises thanks to a few upsets in the TV category where shows no one watches nabbed some of the top prizes while in the film category. No one was shocked, however, when Meryl Streep won Best Actress in a Drama, except Meryl Streep, who garnered another Globe for that reaction on her way up to accept for The Iron Lady. Micro-sculptor Willard Wigan created what is reportedly “the world’s first sculpture in lipstick.” The two tubes were sculpted in the likenesses of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

The lipstick duo is up for auction on British ebay, with the proceeds benefiting The Breast Cancer Campaign. Auction ends Feb. 19!

Since Thursday People.com has emblazoned on their site that they will present the first photos of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s new babies, Knox and Vivienne. Now Gawker is reporting People Magazine has rushed out their new issue for Monday, a whole four days before its usually release. The spread is reportedly 30 pages long! Can you handle 30 pages of Brad, Angie, Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh, Pax, Vivienne, and Knox? I suppose they want the most bang for their buck seeing that they paid close to $14 million of the pics! Ouch! Are they going to charge $20 bucks a pop for this issue?
