Heidi Klum will be portrayed by Angela Lindvall. The role of Nina Garcia will be played by Marchesa‘s Georgina Chapman. Joanna Coles, editor-in-chief of Marie Claire will star as mentor-in residence Tim Gunn. And returning to the fashion reality competition show stage is Isaac Mizrahi as Michael Kors. Guest judges will include Diane von Furstenberg, Miranda Kerr, Miss Piggy, Pharrell Williams, Nanette Lepore, Rachel Roy, Catherine Malandrino, and Mark Badgley and James Mischka.

The All-Stars in question are past Runway contestants who weren’t quite up to snuff, such as Austin Scarlett, Sweet P, Kara Janx and that much-reviled whiny copycat, Kenley Collins. Personally, I stopped watching Project Runway as soon as it hopped from Bravo to Lifetime,  deciding along the way that a season in L.A. was a good idea, but this new spin-off series could bring some much-needed fresh air into the franchise.

The All-Stars will compete for a handsome set of prizes, the most lucrative in Runway history: “an exclusive designer boutique in select Neiman Marcus stores and on neimanmarcus.com; $100,000 in technology and office space to help expand their business from HP and Intel; $100,000 cash from L’Oréal Paris; a feature spread in Marie Claire, for which he or she will serve as a guest editor for one year, and a sewing and embroidery studio provided by Brother International.” Well, at least they made returning to the scene of one’s former and very public embarrassment suitably enticing.

Before bringing the house down with a Drops of Jupiter encore finale, Train’s vocal virtuoso Patrick Monahan walked singing through the crowd with a mic and a security guard, giving hugs and spreading love to Marry Me. Before that, he brought the audience to a hush as he sang a cappella, sans microphone, turning Webster Hall into a true theater. With Soul Sister came the involuntary sing along, and Meet Virginia struck a deep chord toward the start. In betwixt all of this, he called up eight young ladies up to be the Trainettes, making them rockstars for a moment.  Needless to say, their new single Save me, San Francisco drove the audience wild, like every one of their singles that get stuck in our heads indefinitely.

Opening for Train was the stunning Nikki Jean. Down in her core she is a songwriter with a nostalgic soul. Her new album took her around the country to write with some of the greatest living songwriters like Bob Dylan, Carole King, Burt Bacharach, Carly Simon and many others. What was gained is a young songstress now evolving with the wisdom of the legends of our time. There were notes of those greats in the atmosphere as she serenaded the audience on the ivory keys.

Right before Nikki Jean took the stage, the winners of the Origins Rocks Earth Month Green Artist Search Treetop Flyers haunted the audience with tickling guitar riffs and voices smooth as honey. Chaps from England have a way with music.

Before any of this went down, FashionIndie caught up with Train on the Green Carpet as they entered. We asked them, how do they take the green initiative upon themselves?

Pat Monahan: “We haven’t just woken up to hey, take care of the earth. And this isn’t, take care of the earth. The earth will win. It’s take care of the future children we want to have. Love your job and the other things will come. We love our job and it makes us want to be more helpful, and do events like this.“

Scott Underwood: “We’re reducing our footprint as a band. We used to use lots of bottles of water, and we’re trying to fully eliminate it. We’re trying to green our bus, but we’re not always there in there.”

Jimmy Stafford: “We did the John Mayer tour, and bands like us, come in requesting the venues to be green. We’re making those demands now, but it will become more common.

Jeff Miles: The night’s MC from 95.5 PLJ moved to NY from Dalla, TX, so for him going completely carless is a huge step in greening his life.

- Vivienne Westwood is opening up her first flagship store in the states and she’s doing it in Los Angeles. Why L.A.? ”I don’t actually like New York.” She explains. “New York people are a bit stuck up and self important, and think that just the fact that they live in New York makes them better than anybody else.” Not better than anybody else. Better than everybody else. So-what? Who-cares? Is it our fault our city kicks every other city’s ass? I don’t think so. Please don’t punish us for being the bestest, Viv. [W]

- As if there weren’t enough fashion reality shows hosted by supermodels, now NBC has thrown their chapeau into the ring with Fashion Star, hosted by Elle Macpherson. But don’t expect high concept challenges requiring yards of tulle and a metric ton of beading; this show will focus on everyday items, “like bathing suits or lingerie, or surf wear and jeans.” And the winner gets a multi-million dollar contract and the chance to have their line sold at a “massive retail store.” I don’t know about you, but I’ve all but given up on PJ Runway (Lifetime? Ew.) and The Fashion Show, despite Iman being the best person ever, just doesn’t make the cut. Will a show about designers making mass-retail jeans intrigue you? Especially on NBC? [Modelina]

- You just can’t keep a good tran down. Brad Goreski, the hunky and adorable bow-tied supergay from The Rachel Zoe Project is getting his own Bravo reality show, It’s a Brad Brad World. Zero points for the title, but I’ll tune in any day of the week to watch that lady’s tearful shenanigans. [Fashionista]

- If you were ever wondering what former Oasis frontman and all-around limey prick, Liam Gallagher‘s thoughts on Rocawear were, well, now you know. When asked to compare his label, Pretty Green, with Jay Z‘s, Gallagher responded: “You’re going to be fucking arrested wearing his gear and you’re going to pull a really nice-looking bird wearing mine.” Meanwhile, Liam Gallagher’s known for flipping more birds than for pulling them and Jay has Beyoncé. - I’m loving Tyra Banks: Harvard student. She lives in the dorms, eats in the cafeteria and wakes up daily at 730 for study sessions with her classmates. Not only that, she’s never too busy to help out her fellow students : “I’m giving a billionaire that has a business that’s been in his family for 300 years—I’m giving him advice about strategy! - Riccardo Tisci would have turned down his post at Givenchy had it not been for one pesky little factor: his mom. Turns out Mama Tisci was on the verge of selling her house and moving into a retirement home: “When I heard that it was like a knife in my heart. I felt like such a failure, that my mother had to sell the house of my father whom I don’t remember. And then I went to Paris, and they showed me a contract with all these zeros on it, and it was like help from God. In an exclamation-point-riddled statement on the NKOTB website, Jonathan absolved Tiffany of any culpability, claiming to be gay for days, gurl:

“I have never been outed by anyone but myself! I did so almost twenty years ago. I never knew that I would have to do it all over again publicly just because I reunited with NKOTB! I have lived my life very openly and have never hidden the fact that I am gay! Apparently the pre requisite to being a gay public figure is to appear on the cover of a magazine with the caption ‘I am gay’. I apologize for not doing so if this is what was expected! My belief is that you live your life by example, and not by a caption on a magazine! If there ever has been any confusion about my sexuality, then you are someone that doesn’t even know me!

“I love living my life being open and honest, but at this time I choose not to discuss my private life any further! My fellow band members don’t discuss their private lives with their loved ones and I don’t feel that just because I am gay, I should have to discuss mine!”

Knight also took to Twitter to defend his one-time ex-girlfriend/fag hag:

“I’d also appreciate it if the people talking trash about Tiffany and Deborah [Gibson] knock it off and stop being nasty!”

And to express that all’s gay that ends gay:

“@tiffanytunes Tiff, please don’t lose any sleep over it! I know you weren’t being mean and I found it to be funny!”

Jonathan Knight may have a point; so many celebrities and public figures who are gay either don’t come out at all or when they do there has to be a PR blitz about it.

It’s 2011, do people still need to come out? Shouldn’t we be in a place by now where people can just feel comfortable being out and not have to throw open that closet door with the aid of a tabloid?

Julie Nixon was the first “celebrity” DVF saw wearing her designs and subsequently inspired the wrap dress.

“She wore a little wrap top with a matching skirt and I thought that was really nice. That’s when I decided actually to attach it and turn it into a dress.”

Well, at least that presidency gave the nation something worth remembering. Speaking of remembering, Iman and DVF take us down memory lane to the first time they met.  It was over 30 years ago at Lord & Taylor when DVF spotted that stunning giraffe glide into the room – “this extraordinary creature. You’v never seen anything so beautiful in your life.”

She approached the extraordinary creature and asked if she was a model – duh –  then asked her for her number. Iman kneeled in an “extraordinary” way and they’ve been friends ever since.

According to Iman, however:

“I don’t kneel for anybody like that except David Bowie and Diane von Furstenberg.”

Andy tried to touch on their time at 54, but they both pleaded the 5th. I’ll just assume that means they can’t discuss it lest they face federal imprisonment and/or deportation.

Originally, Bravo’s show was purported to be called From the Bottom to the Top.

I’ll just let that bit of information sink in.

However, newly appointed Executive Vice President of Bravo, Andy Cohen, popped that irreverent bubble with this tweet refuting the existence of the show. At least with that particular title.

Now Access Hollywood adds fuel to the fire with a cast list featuring a group of New York power gays known as The Plastics (since all gays never age emotionally past “15-year-old-girl”) which includes underwear model and  frequent object of my wet dreams affection, Christopher Fawcett.

My heart skipped a gay beat with news of Fawcett’s homo tendencies, but then immediately tripped, stumbled and fell after learning milliseconds later that he’s the boyfriend of one of the other cast members, interior designer Jordan Carlyle.

Who also happens to be insanely hot.

I mean, really, is this at all necessary?

Well, what are you gonna do? I mean, besides, instigate a coked-up threesome, videotape it, “accidentally” leak it online then parlay that into a regular stint as the sassy next door neighbor housewife who wrecks their relationship, then flips a table in the final episode for seemingly no reason other than the 6 Long Island iced teas that magically slipped and slid down my throat in the course of 2 hours.

Anygay. Bravo’s reality show has not yet been green lit for production, nor does it have a title, which hasn’t kept a jockstrap full of names from being tossed around : A-Gays, The Real A-List, VIP:GAY:NYC, The A-Team,  SocialistOs, The Real Househusbands of NYC, The Gay Gangs of NY.

I like The A-Team,  but only if it was changed to The Gay-Team and they cast Givenchy muse Lea T. in a starring role. Imagine: Mr./Ms. T.

Whatever this hypothetical show turns out to be and whenever it may be on air, I know one thing for sure: I’ll be tuning in. Because this is my idea of Must-See-T.V.

We all know there was an odd void when Project Runway was moved to Lifetime and Bravo was sans a fashion reality competition.  Last year they tried to feed us The Fashion Show and I know that every self respecting fashion lover was not about it.

When the ads for this season of The Fashion Show came up first I was a little apprehensive but the more clips of Iman I saw, the better. I saw the first episode and was pretty pleased. I hate the stereotypes but all my favorites were included such as The Villian, Cute Straight Guy, Sassy Black Girl, and Boy Who Looks Like a Girl.

I was so moved by the first episode to check out the 2nd that aired last night. SHIT WENT DOWN! There was drama, quitings, sucess, and failures. Not to mention Iman saying the best line of the night: “That dress had more tricks than a hooker!”

Good job Bravo you have me hooked!

1. Sleeping with someone famous makes automatically you famous.

Not only is reality show whore Reichen Lehmkuhl who’s biggest claim to fame was basically kicking Lance Bass out of the closet but apparently Marc Jacobs ex Austin considers herself a celebrity worthy of being a main character in a reality show.

2. When in doubt, take your shirt off.

Last night’s premiere was not short on gratuitous nudity. I’m pretty sure that every 3-4 minutes I was looking at someone’s naked torso. (Not that anyone minded.)

3. You don’t need to sing to be a lead in a musical.

Reichen shows every young performer that you don’t need to be good at  singing, dancing or even acting to star in an Off Broadway production.

4. If you six pack isn’t ripped you must be fat.

Austin is a “model” who’s looking forward to make it big again. (Wait did he make it big before?) Everyone on the show thinks he’s giving Precious a run for her money every though you can definitely see what appears to be a decent six pack on him.

5. Mike Ruiz doesn’t think we’re important.

Mike Ruiz takes Reichen’s boy toy Rodiney to the Particia Field after party for Sex And The City 2 screening and iit just so happens the the Fashion Indie crew and I were also at the party. Unfortunately we were not “A-List” enough to grab any screen time. (Bastards!)

6.  If you’re gay in NYC then you must work in fashion.

Well let’s just say that I didn’t need to watch the show to know this but this show makes it seems as if all homos do in the city revolves around the fashion world. This isn’t true at all we are also cops, soldiers, construction workers, cowboys, Native Americans, and bikers. (Wait what?)

7. Minorities are not allowed on the A-List

Besides mini-characters such as the agent, personal trainer, and a sugar daddy this show is lacking some serious color. I thought gays came in all colors of the rainbow.

8. Every gay man is a Jack Jill of all trades

Gays are very complex individuals which means that the roles they play are plentiful. Every good mo should have at least 5 slashes in his title to make him important. For example I am a Editor/Stylist/Actor/Dancer/Socialite/On Air Personality.

9. “Delicious” is the code word.

Ryan & T.J enlightened all our world by adding another word into gay lexicon. Delicious (Adj.) – Used to describe something that is awful but concealing your true mean. EX: Reichen’s singing is delicious.

10. Logo finally has a hit on it’s hands.

Logo has been around for longer than most people think and it’s most popular show to date has been RuPaul’s Drag Race besides the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reruns. Gays are rejoicing because they have something salacious to watch after viewing  Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta

When people spotted Lady Gaga’s monstrous eyes in last week’s episode of Double Exposure they were almost certain those eyes were a product of some good photoshop. But Lady Gaga actually had the eyes painted on her during the shoot and did the entire thing with her eyes closed!

We here at Fashion Indie love reality shows, especially the ones on Bravo. Millionaire Matchmaker is one that we follow religiously. We actually got the opportunity to speak to one of the cast members on the show, Destin Pfaff. He is Patti Stanger’s right hand man and now COO of her company. We asked him all the questions that everyone is dying to know about him, dating, and of course on working with Patti.

Where do real millionaires hang out?

Besides our office? The best places to find a millionaire are at high end steak houses, cigar lounges, and the occasional charity event. You could also dig up a millionaire at specialty events, like classic car shows, conventions, and auctions.

Do you ever get relationship advice from Patti?

I definitely give a lot of it to her, as for getting it… yes I’ll admit she has truly helped me in my relationship with Rachel. Although I think I’m still mad at her for making us work together.

What is the biggest difference between the real Patti and the “TV” Patti?

Take the TV Patti and multiply her energy by twenty, and Bam! You have real Patti. That, and more bad words.

How did you feel about Patti telling you to get married?

Harassed? Actually, Patti loves Rachel to death and just wants the best for the both us and the best is each other.

How do you feel about Patti’s engagement?

I LOVE Andy! He’s my pal! We have a LOT in common. He is a great guy and the total opposite of Patti. If yin and yang are meant to be together, these two are a match made in heaven.

What is the secret behind your awesome hair?

I call it my “Get up and Go hawk“. A little Giga-hold gel, splash of hairspray, and a dash of love. Honestly, it has a mind of its own, it just stands up… usually from me looking in the mirror too long.

Where did you get the name Sin Halo (his sons name) from?

Rachel and I were lying in bed talking about the good and bad in everybody and out popped “Sin Halo”. It came from out of nowhere and just stuck… we kept coming back to it and back to it. He was destined for that name.

What is your biggest dating “no-no”?

Talking about your exes. Nobody wants to imagine you having sex with someone else while they’re out on a date with you – remember that.

What should one wear to attract a millionaire?

Simple is key. Men are not complicated creatures and the more complicated you dress the more it confuses us. A simple black cocktail dress showing a little cleavage and a little leg goes a long way. It leaves just enough to the imagination, well at the same time bringing some attention to the goods.

What should one wear on a date with a millionaire?

Well, if what you wore attracted him in the first place… something similar is a safe bet. And watch out for panty lines.

What’s the hardest part about your job?

Patti and Rachel. But they are also the best.

What is the most fun thing about your job?

Giving dating advice and watching it work . And doing interviews with great website like fashionindie.com!

Who on the show was your favorite client?

Jimmy D. and Ayinde were my two favorite clients. As human beings they were sincere, self respective, genuine, and fun. Having said that my most unique experience so far, has been Jason Davis aka Gummi Bear. Would I call him fun? No. Would I call him interesting? Yes.

Who was your least?

Hands down my least favorite was Justin Levine. If you look up the words “unaware, self-centered, douche bag” on Wikipedia, there’d be a picture of him in tutu thinking he looked hot. But that’s just my opinion.

What are some tips you could give on how to bag a millionaire?

On last night’s episode, Kelly Cutrone went to Babeland to pick up a sex toy for a friend, and lube for an office employee. This was a bit shocking to most (duh), since the episode was supposed to air only online. Kelly called the producers and made sure to air the entire thing:

‘It was important to me that we spread the message that shopping for sex toys is OK,’ the p.r. honcho tells us. ‘I thought it was perfect. This isn’t something we should be ashamed to discuss.’”

After last week’s fashion week mishap with client Chado Ralph Rucci, Kelly is determined to make sure the next show goes off without a hitch. But when front of house gets waaay out of hand during the press check-in, will newly-promoted employee Stefanie be able to handle the pressure? And Kelly and her staff have an emergency on their hands when a model collapses during one of their events, how will the team handle the crisis?

Bravo’s having Project Runway withdrawals—and it shows. Their latest fashion design centric show, Launch My Line, throws designers and non-designers together to create pieces in order to win the opportunity to launch their own line of clothing. The first episode failed to bring any reason to continue watching, featuring underwhelming outfits and twin hosts that insist on dressing alike. Even the drama throughout the episode was a disappointment and predictable—what else would you expect when you’re pairing someone with no design skills with an actual designer who’s doing all of the actual work?

The show just leaves me asking the question, do we really need another “celebrity designer” in this world?

I had never heard that Detroit has a Fashion Week, but apparently they do. I’m sorry that I didn’t cover this, maybe next year, since you know, as the website says it’s Michigan’s “only fashion industry event.” That makes it sound so much more sad than exciting.

Even though everyone and their gay in the closet brother would watch, Marc Jacobs won’t be hitting the reality circuit just yet. Sorry Bravo, you’ll just have to settle for every other fame whoring designer out there.

“It’s totally false. It’s been causing a lot of confusion. Marc and Lorenzo haven’t been approached about it as far as I know. They don’t have any plans for reality television right now,” said a spokesperson for Jacobs.

Notice the “right now”. Does that mean this year, decade, lifetime?!? Come on spokesperson, elaborate. The Christian Siriano Project is coming soon and I’m hoping another designers life will be on the tube to distract me from a whole season of “fierce”, “ferosh”, and “trannie hot mess”. Oh god Bravo!!! You’re shows and their stupid, weak ass catchphrases. I die.

Somehow Bravo got it in their head that it was a good idea to reproduce the trash-ion that the Real Housewives of Orange County, New Jersey, New York, and Atlanta wear.  Royal Plus has apparently agreed, and the two are teaming up to produce a Real Houswives-inspired line. I don’t even want to know what this might look like, but I’m sure it can be perfectly accessorized with a fake tan and big boobs. Thoughts?

Since it’s freezing in Boston today, I decided to do some posts in front of the TV today. I decided to watch Bravo’s The Fashion Show for the first time ever today, which is what has spawned this post of confusion. Why in the hell is Kelly Rowland the host? What fashion credibility does she even have, because we have all seen the camo laden “Survivor” video. I think this really takes away from the legitimacy of the show a lot.

What do you think indies, with all the fashion people who would clearly love to be a part of this show, Why would they chose Kelly Rowland?

So the rumor from the blogette’s at Fashionista.com is that Laura Bennett is set to get her own show. Seems like “cheating” Sebula is the only one who’s been left in the dark as Laura quickly grabs more and more of the spotlight. The show will focus on Laura’s life as a designer, architect, journalist for the Daily Beast, and mother of her brood of six kids. Seems really, um, boring. Seriously, is Jeffery dead?

With a mere three episodes left of the competition and just five contestants standing, the pressure is on to be flawless. The models must pull off a sexy beachfront photo shoot. The catch? They have to do it in freezing temperatures during the dead of winter while pretending that it looks like summer! The contestants feel the threat when the photographer gives Salome positive notes, but they must focus when they have a demanding catwalk challenge. Will they be able to pull it off without a hitch?

The Fred Segal Store, the high-end retailer favored by celebrities will be the subject of a new reality show headed to Bravo. The show will follow the daily drama that occurs in the lives of those who work and shop at the retail outlet’s Santa Monica, California location.

“Fred Segal is a legendary retail haven synonymous with high fashion and style, and the fashionistas who work, shop and gossip at the store promise to have arresting, entertaining, colorful personalities and lives,” Frances Berwick, executive vp and general manager at Bravo, told The Hollywood Reporter.

So, I was really trying to be optimistic about this one, but it doesn’t seem like there’s much place for optimism in this situation. Yes, this is the third time another move on the Project Runway lawsuits has come into play. Just to make sure everyone’s up to date-First, NBC sued Weinstein Co. because they sold the show to Lifetime, then, Lifetime moved the issue to federal court, and now, just for the hell of it, Weinstein Co. is suing Bravo. It makes me dizzy just thinking about it! Weinstein Co. claims that Bravo intentionally cut-back advertising for Project Runway’s season 5 because the were resentful that the show moved to Lifetime. It was revealed what Weinstein said about Bravo’s harsh actions:

“[they were] changing the show’s airtime; running a small number of ads; creating ‘mundane and unappealing’ ads; providing little information for the press about the season premiere; and revealing spoilers about future episodes.”

Let’s just get it all over with! We need season 6!

Not only has the show sparked quite a bit of judgment, but quite a bit of anger as well. Speaking of Zoe and her “ludicrous” antics, a New York Times critic has spoken.

She’s “a pox on humanity.” Going on she speaks of her “mad consumption ,” which is “downright unseemly.”

Not sure what would happen if the show did return. I’m guessing at least a few more reviews like this are inevitable.

Did anyone watch The Rachel Zoe Project preview episode on Bravo Monday? Her closet flooded, destroying tens of thousands of dollars in designer gowns. And, her assistants went NUTS. SOOO funny!

Celebrity stylist, Rachel Zoe, released a sneak preview of her new reality show on Bravo last night. The show is titled The Rachel Zoe Project and premieres on Bravo September 8. Though TV scheduals tend to be filling up, it seems as if Ms. Zoe was hoping we had a little room for her reality show (because TV really is lacking in those, right?).
