The idea behind this new fashion adventure is “to remodel the styles of classic icons from the past, for example, Marilyn Monroe, Grace Kelly, and Katherine Hepburn.” Well, you can never go wrong with old Hollywood, I always say, and it would be interesting to see Kitty Hep’s trouser-loving style translated by someone not really known for wearing pants.

Natali, a Parsons grad, is already outfitting an off-Broadway show and will presumably handle the lion’s share of design duties; especially since big sis is stretched thin as it is, what with the demands of being a global phenomenon and all — something I can identify with (no big deal). Gaga the Younger is rumored to be “coming up with a slew of design options” and rest assured, “everything will have their twist on it.”[Grazia Daily, Daily Telegraph]

Now, I know you didn’t watch the Tonys — even I tuned out after growing tired of waiting for Patti Lupone to rip out Kristin Chenoweth‘s weave, but since this is the future, Brooke’s blunder is a moment that will live on forever and ever. Or at least till something with a cat doing something ornery and cute overtakes the Interwebs…in about 5 seconds.

- First season DVDs of Glee and How I Met Your Mother. Glee’s Rachel Berry is the perfect example of what can go wonderfully right and horribly wrong with the child of two gay dads, while fellow real-life gay dad Neil Patrick Harris became America’s Sweetheart again thanks to How I Met Your Mother, or as I like to refer to it, The Only Reasonably Watchable Show on CBS.

- Origins Anti-aging serum. If there’s one thing gay dad needs is the reassurance that though he may be getting old, he’s still looks better than the other moms on the PTA. Sure, without the stress of childbirth he’s already ahead of the game, but why not put off the Botox train’s imminent arrival with Origins Plantscription Anti-aging serum. - Duckie Brown classic plaid shorts. Nothing says Happy Mother’s Day like good ole men’s tailoring. Ladies, am I right? Okay, maybe that’s not necessarily true, but gay dads are not traditionally honored on Mother’s Day, so why not give them something equally non-traditional? Duckie Brown adds more than a fair share of sass and slouch to men’s clothing and though my first instinct draws me to these drop-crotch pants, for gay dad a pair of fun, fashionable shorts that can take him from the grill to the bath house and back again seems a tad more appropriate.

- Tickets to Priscilla, Queen of the Desert on Broadway. With reviews like this: “Every conceivable surface has been decked with sequins, spattered with colored lights, plastered in mirrored chips or trimmed in feathers and fringe,” how could anyone resist? A feel-good musical about the original mothers of the world — drag queens — in a series of outlandish costumes and a disco ball’s worth of dance-pop hits, a trip to Priscilla will give gay dad a Mother’s Day he won’t likely forget…particularly with the number of buff, nearly naked go-go boys traipsing about. You gotta give daddy what he wants.

- Finally, and wonderfully before I pass out from this royally exhausting day, Broadway legend and diva with a capital D, Patti Lupone will bringing her magnificent chops to the season finale of Glee, thus placing it in a very special realm of gay heretofore restricted to Sex and the City theme parties and the Interior Illusions Lounge from RuPaul’s Drag Race. Really?! We’ll believe it when we see it!

Broadway’s Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark musical may actually be seeing the light of day on the Great White Way!

Evan Rachel Wood and Alan Cumming both dropped out of the production in recent weeks, leaving only relatively unknown Reeve Carney to play Spider-Man, but supposedly the show will go on!

Rehearsals are scheduled to start in the summer followed by previews in October and an official opening in November!

We’re still not too wild on this whole idea.

Yeah, you heard me. I think I am just about done wasting an hour of every Wednesday night watching Season 5 of Project Runway. The fashion is awful, the drama is ridiculous and I think that the producers have just about run out of creative challenges. Let’s have a little rundown of the designs (from left to right), shall we?”:

Jerrell won last night’s challenge. How? I didn’t know that crumpled grocery bags constitutes as appropriate material for an evening-gown. Not only is the material awful, so are the hems. This dress looks completely thrown together and unfinished. The boobs are totally out of place, and if you ask me, it looks like Jerrell closed his eyes and threw jewels at them. Where will they land…nobody knows. 

I think Kenley missed the memo…this is Project Runway, not Project Ursula for The Little Mermaid on Broadway. This dress isn’t at all reminiscent of a flower, maybe a nightmare where Godzilla made an appearance, but definitely not a delicate flower. Oh, and Kenley’s attitude last night was one I’ll never forget: “Wahhh my life was so hard. My dad was a tugboat conductor.” Boo hoo. Go cry yourself a river and ask your dad to sail you away from the fashion world. Perhaps you’d be better at acting.

Korto started out with the right inspiration, but it all went downhill from there. Her tangerine orange gown screams “bad prom dress” and doesn’t seem to have any sophistication at all. The tailoring on the bust was all off…her model seemed cold, if you catch my drift. Much thanks to Korto for hiding her extra tulle and beating Kenley in WWF smack-down backstage. 

Leanne probably had the best design of the night, although periwinkle and the random chunk of purple fabric spilling out of the model’s butt didn’t do it for me. The dress looked a little too Disney princess and not enough high fashion gown. 

Of course, the producers “surprised” us again and sent all four designers home to complete their collections. I might have overreacted and I probably will watch the last two episodes, but let’s pray that the 3 months the designers are alloted to complete their looks bring some fashion sense into their lives. Amen.
