William Okpo is the brainchild of sisters Lizzy and Darlene Okpo for the contemporary, confident woman. Named as an ode to their father whose killer style has always been an inspiration to them, the Okpo sisters have garnered a lot of attention in the past year. The brand is sold at Opening Ceremony in NY and LA; they have become street style stars for their amazing wardrobe, accessories and long locks; and they recently teamed with Brook&Lyn to create a cape and pouch. We caught up with the Brooklyn-based design duo to find out what it’s like working with a family member, their current muse and guilty pleasures.

One of our favorite reads at FashionIndie, New York Magazine, just came out with its “Cheap Eats” issue, including 20 mouthwatering pages with the best food under $25 in New York City. Being in fashion and all, we frivolously spend most of our hard-earned cash on clothing and accessories. But that doesn’t mean we resort to street dogs and bad pizza (ewww). Big news Brooklyn based indies. Thanks in large part to our corporate sponsors (Smart Car, Berkeley College, Guru Energy Drink) we’ve been able to reduce our registration fees for Fashion Indie Week Brooklyn!!!

This is big news for the hundreds of boutiques and designers that have already registered but we’re apprehensive to put up the cash for our $500 registration fee. Now you can register for Fashion Indie Week Brooklyn for only $50 bucks. Best of all, all the designers and boutiques who have already registered will get back the cash-money they already put down for registration. (yeah, we’re loaded like that).
