href="http://themoment.blogs.nytimes.com/">the Moment</a> thinks that “the prep-inspired look of summers past — lace-up leather oxfords with no socks — just seems a bit too polished, pulled together and considered” for this summer.  I don’t really agree or disagree on this one, but I do happen to like his footwear alternative—the Clarks sand suede desert boot.  Granted, he’s speaking to the guys here, but I can’t help thinking about how well these little suede booties would look on us ladies, whether we pair them with light-as-air dresses, cotton voile skirts, or long and lean shorts with ultra-femme tops.<br
