<p>Showing up to the party in the same dress as someone else getting you down? Stop seeing double and explore these eight talented designers for looks that will have you standing out like a true indie.</p>
<div id="attachment_178498" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 335px"><a rel="attachment wp-att-178498" href="http://fashionindie.com/eight-young-designers-to-watch-before-they-get-huge/new-designers1/"><img class="size-full wp-image-178498" title="new-designers1" src="http://ficdn.fashionindie.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/new-designers1.jpg" alt="Eight Young Designers to Watch Before They Get Huge" width="325" height="475" /></a><p class="wp-caption-text">Vaughan Alexander&#39;s silk jersey tank, knotted cotton skirt and cotton shorts</p></div>
<p><span id="more-178497"></span></p>
<p>If you love a black wardrobe, <strong>Verlaine </strong>is the collection for you. Designed by <strong>Vaughan Alexander </strong>for the global woman who&#8217;s &#8220;leaning toward the darker side,&#8221; this line boasts technique and handcrafted details. The collection is sold at Kirna Zabête in New York.</p>
<div id="attachment_178499" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 335px"><a rel="attachment wp-att-178499" href="http://fashionindie.com/eight-young-designers-to-watch-before-they-get-huge/new-designers5/"><img class="size-full wp-image-178499" title="new-designers5" src="http://ficdn.fashionindie.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/new-designers5.jpg" alt="Eight Young Designers to Watch Before They Get Huge" width="325" height="475" /></a><p class="wp-caption-text">Maison Bellaish’s viscose dress</p></div>
<p>An alum of Roberto Cavalli and Gianfranco Ferré, <strong>Victor Bellaish </strong>has done time at some of Europe&#8217;s finest design houses. He launched his line <strong>Maison Bellaish </strong>in 2006, and his work is just as fine &#8211; the designs, handmade in Israel, focus on silk, lace and feathers. The collection is sold exclusive at the Maison Bellaish Atelier in New York.</p>
<div id="attachment_178500" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 335px"><a rel="attachment wp-att-178500" href="http://fashionindie.com/eight-young-designers-to-watch-before-they-get-huge/new-designers7/"><img class="size-full wp-image-178500" title="new-designers7" src="http://ficdn.fashionindie.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/new-designers7.jpg" alt="Eight Young Designers to Watch Before They Get Huge" width="325" height="475" /></a><p class="wp-caption-text">Lekuin’s silk and cotton dress and tank top</p></div>
<p>If you want to be eco-friendly and not look trashy like KeSha, <strong>Leticia Garcia </strong>has the tonic. The model turned designer uses recycled fabrics for her line <strong>Lekuin</strong>, and it&#8217;s absolutely gorgeous. She describes the line as androgynous, “urban, a little bit punk but with a strong, feminine spirit.” You can snag the collection at BoutiqueToYou.com.</p>
<div id="attachment_178501" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 335px"><a rel="attachment wp-att-178501" href="http://fashionindie.com/eight-young-designers-to-watch-before-they-get-huge/new-designers4/"><img class="size-full wp-image-178501" title="new-designers4" src="http://ficdn.fashionindie.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/new-designers4.jpg" alt="Eight Young Designers to Watch Before They Get Huge" width="325" height="475" /></a><p class="wp-caption-text">Sara Roka’s cotton shirtdress</p></div>
<p>After Vancouver native <strong>Sara Roka</strong>&#8216;s 2009 capsule collection flopped, she dusted herself off and launched a shirt-centric label in 2010. Perfect for the girl with effortless style, her ruffled blouses, shoulder-baring dresses and puff-sleeved tops go above and beyond the basic white tee. Her collection is available at Gregory’s in Dallas, Nia Roma in Rome and Bugatti in Dubai.</p>
<div id="attachment_178502" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 335px"><a rel="attachment wp-att-178502" href="http://fashionindie.com/eight-young-designers-to-watch-before-they-get-huge/new-designers3/"><img class="size-full wp-image-178502" title="new-designers3" src="http://ficdn.fashionindie.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/new-designers3.jpg" alt="Eight Young Designers to Watch Before They Get Huge" width="325" height="475" /></a><p class="wp-caption-text">Penumbra’s sand-washed silk blouse and sand-washed silk and cotton jersey pants</p></div>
<p><strong>Courtney Bennett</strong> and <strong>Stephanie Giorgio </strong>don&#8217;t have design backgrounds, and maybe that&#8217;s what makes their line <strong>Penumbra </strong>so eclectic. Penumbra means &#8220;partial illumination&#8221; or &#8220;between dark and light.&#8221; Their clothes, mostly draped and cut from rayon jersey or sand-washed silk, transition well between day and night. The collection is sold at Saks.com, Intermix, Shopbop.com and Revolveclothing.com.</p>
<div id="attachment_178503" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 335px"><a rel="attachment wp-att-178503" href="http://fashionindie.com/eight-young-designers-to-watch-before-they-get-huge/new-designers2/"><img class="size-full wp-image-178503" title="new-designers2" src="http://ficdn.fashionindie.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/new-designers2.jpg" alt="Eight Young Designers to Watch Before They Get Huge" width="325" height="475" /></a><p class="wp-caption-text">Joy Cioci’s silk jacket, tank and pants</p></div>
<p><strong>Joy Cioci</strong>, fresh from her recent experience working under Tom Ford and Oliver Theyskens, is debuting her fall 2011 line at New York Fashion Week in February. Expect cool and sophisticated cocktail wear with deep-v backs and sexy silk separates. Fall’s inspiration, Cioci adds, “is the way light can embrace an object. So the colors are muted and washed out, and there’s a sense of freedom with the silhouettes and shapes.”</p>
<div id="attachment_178506" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 335px"><a rel="attachment wp-att-178506" href="http://fashionindie.com/eight-young-designers-to-watch-before-they-get-huge/new-designers8/"><img class="size-full wp-image-178506" title="new-designers8" src="http://ficdn.fashionindie.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/new-designers8.jpg" alt="Eight Young Designers to Watch Before They Get Huge" width="325" height="475" /></a><p class="wp-caption-text">Irwin &amp; Jordan’s wool and satin jacket, sequined polyamide and elastane bikini top and wool pants. Alejandro Ingelmo shoes</p></div>
<p>If you&#8217;re dreaming of white suit that doesn&#8217;t belong in Miami, designer <strong>Zoë Jordan</strong> has the classic tailoring skills to meet your expectations. Her line <strong>Irwin &amp; Jordan </strong>is clean and feminine with a boyish edge and falls somewhere between classic and avant garde. “You’ve got Vivienne Westwood on one hand and Ralph Lauren on the other,” she says. “We sit somewhere in the middle.” The label is available at LouisBoston and Arcade Boutique in West Hollywood.</p>
<div id="attachment_178507" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 335px"><a rel="attachment wp-att-178507" href="http://fashionindie.com/eight-young-designers-to-watch-before-they-get-huge/new-designers6/"><img class="size-full wp-image-178507" title="new-designers6" src="http://ficdn.fashionindie.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/new-designers6.jpg" alt="Eight Young Designers to Watch Before They Get Huge" width="325" height="475" /></a><p class="wp-caption-text">Norisol Ferrari’s deer leather jacket and lamb suede pants</p></div>
<p>Why just eat delicious game meats when you can wear them too? Native New Yorker <strong>Norisol Ferrari </strong>believes in lamb and deer leather, garments signed by the seamstress and NYC manufacturing. “I am a born and raised New Yorker,&#8221; Ferrari said. &#8220;This city made me. I feel indebted to it.” Her line of leather, suede, lamb and deer is sold in Maxfield in Los Angeles.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">On Monday Rebecca wrote about how she wanted the new <a href="http://fashionindie.com/all-i-want-for-hanukah-is-the-diesel-car/">Fiat 500 by Diesel</a>, well after two more designer/fashion inspired cars were spotted today, I am officially over this lame trend. The new Hermes Citroen 2CV and the Volkswagon Beetle for Barney&#8217;s are pretty damn lame if you ask me. As if the orginal car isn&#8217;t expensive enough (with the exception of the VW) now you have to pay the added super premium price to have the left over fabric from an old Hermes line stiched over the seats. The only really cool vehicle I see here is the Louis Vuitton Vespa, mostly because you can actually see the signiture monogram print. If you like Hermes or Diesel enough to buy their collaboration cars, save your money on the car and spend it on their clothes where it should be spent in the first place.</p>
