These bags are beyond extraordinary. Matthew Williamson found some vintage inspiration when he designed his Bulgari handbag line.

“I had a pretty free brief,” the designer told InStyle UK, “so I skimmed the archives from about 1950 forward and came across the hexagonal shapes of the clutches that I embossed on the leather and that are also a part of the kaleidoscope print of the fabric bags. I added my own heart print for synthesis.”

If I don’t get my hands on one of these, I’m going to cry. But they’re clearly going to be hella expensive. “Obviously the Bulgari customer, who is a woman who appreciates great quality, glamour and luxury,” Williamson said. “In a way, they are the same principals of my own customers, although I see my line as slightly more bohemian and more relaxed.”

Sigh…

I’ve said it before, there something about Julianne Moore that inspires fashion photographers to treat her like a work of art. While, unlike in exhibit A and exhibit B, photographers Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott don’t recreate previously existing works of art, the mood of this year’s Bulgari’s campaigns ooze an art feel.

Wearing nothing but Bulgari bags and jewels, Julianne is sprawled against lush and decadent scenarios, having parrots (in the Spring Summer stills) and lion cubs (in the Fall Winter stills) as her companions.

Winona Ryder Under Investigation for Missing Jewelry

Uh oh… Winona Ryder is under investigation after claiming she ‘lost’ a Bulgari bracelet and ring worth over $125,000.

Ryder, who was convicted of shoplifting in 2002, wore the jewelry to the Marie Claire party Prix De La Mode 2008 Awards at the French Embassy in Madrid. She said she gave the pieces to a hotel employee for safekeeping. And, yes, this was the party she was on her way to when she OD’d on Xanax on a flight.
